I have apex 32" flat screen I have no remote for.I tried to hook up a antenna to it and all it said was selecte a antenna type and do an auto scan?

Without a remote control, you can't do anything further. To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites Check this site too.

Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops. Visit some online sites too, which deals with electronic spare parts.

I cant figure out how to change the channel to input/video on my broadband tv without a remote

This problem may be more complex than just the selection of a channel to receive video. The first problem is what channel to receive the video. Usually its received on channel 3 or 4. You select that on the video output and match it on the TV. That assumes your recorder is attached via the RF (antenna) connection. If its hooked up via the component connect then you must have a remote to select IN1 or IN2 on the TV to receive video. Remote controls are available on line. Do a search on your TV model and remote control.

How do you autoscan the olevia 232 t lcd hdtv? I connected an antenna and using a uneversal remote. it just sits there displaying 'no signal'

In the remote, select the input as antenna. It might be now lying as some other input. Normally the TV itself searches for channels. If it is not, go to menu in the remote control, select install-auto and press ok.

Just hooked up your digital box,it seems to work but the remote is driving me bonkers. the guide and select buttons sometimes need to be pushed up to 15 times to activate the function.

What type receiver and remote do you have? Do you have new batteries in the remote? If you put the remote up close to the sensors on the receiver (TV 1) or the antenna on the back of the receiver (TV 2, if dual receiver), does it work normally? Please let me know. Thanks.

jholsinger1,

It sounds like this is TV 1 that you are having this problem with the remote, is that correct? What has changed from when the remote was working till now? Was anything moved like the TV/receiver? You may have some type of interference with the UHF signal. Without getting more specific information, I'm generalizing the trouble shooting steps. Would you clarify if it's TV 1 or TV2. Please post to this site and I will respond back to you.

How do I tune a sony trintron without a remote

Hello
You can autotune your Sony TV without a remote control. Fist connect it to an external antenna or cable whatever may be, to its antenna socket at the back side.

After you have finished connecting your TV, you can use Auto Program to set up your

channels. During Auto Program, the TV will automatically search for available channels and
program receivable channels.

[1] Press POWER button on the TV to turn it on. The Initial Setup screen appears.

[2] Press CH+ button on the remote control or on the TV front panel to start Auto Program, or press CH-- button to exit.

The Initial Setup screen appears each time you turn on the TV until you perform Auto Program.

To perform Auto Program again

1 Press"MENU" button on the front panel of your TV.
2 Press "RIGHT ARROW button to highlight Channel Menu.
2 Press DOWN ARROW BUTTON to highlight CABLE or ANTENNA AND PRESS [+} to select.

4 Press UP arrow or DOWN arrow to highlight On or Off according to how you connected your TV. Press [+] to select.

4 Press F or f to highlight On or Off according to how you connected your TV. Press to
select
5 Press DOWN arrow button to highlight Auto Program. Press [+]to search for channels
6 After Auto Program finishes, press MENU button to exit.

I Am hooked to antennae on RCA TRU FLAT TV & when I go to the TV menue, it assumes that I am on cable a. This isn't so We are on antennae.> Howcan I get the menue to recognise that we are infact on...

You didn't provide your TV model. However, you should be able to switch from cable to antenna with the Menu. Make sure the Input source is the TV, press Input repeatedly to get that setting.

1) Menu > Setup Menu > Auto Channel Search. Use the up/down arrows to select the appropriate line. Use the right or left arrow to change the source, then press the down arrow to highlight Start Search. Then press the right arrow or OK.

2) Press Menu and use the Ch+/Ch- buttons to cycle through a list in the menu, highlight Setup and press OK to select. Then use the Vol+/Vol- buttons to choose TV/CATV. Again press OK. Go down to Auto Search and press Vol+.

If there is a Menu button on the TV, you can do this without a remote.

I hope this helps.

(the above work on two different RCA TV made by TTE Corp from 2004 through early 2010. Check the manual for the specifics on your TV. If you provide me the model, I can look in my stacks for the exact manual.)

Switch to antenna mode without a remote

Can you access the menu on the front of the tv? Is so go into the menu setup and switch from cable to air then run the autoprogram to search your channels. If you cannot access the menu on the front of the tv then a remote will be required . Also if if your tv has audio/video jacks in the back of the set and you are not using them hook it up with those inputs for a better picture . Your have to push the input button to select that a/v input you used . Good luck
