Look at the power supply feeding the unit. Has the breaker tripped? Turn the breaker off to the outlet supplying the welder and then turn ot to the, "on" position. You can't reset the breaker from the tripped position. You need to turn it, "off" first. Look at the connectors to make sure they're plugged in properly. Check to see if there is an internal breaker that might have tripped.

Testimonial: "Tried that didn't work. No internal breaker on this unit. Thanks anyway"

Try tracing the current through the various connections. This should only be done if you have experience with electricity because you could easily shock or kill yourself .

Very little power at wire

try to use bare .032 wire and co2 shielded gas, If the equipment does not have a gas solenoid you may have to wire a solenoid to the trigger mechanism to get the gas to flow while the wire is feeding. The bare wire usually copper coated burns much hotter than the flux core when there is a gas shield. Also a .032 bare wire with a gas shield burns a a lower amp range and will get better penetration.

You may have to experiment with the feed rate and gas flow to get the correct setting, but the bare wire has a lot less resistance to current flow than the flux core and will burn a lot hotter when you use a gas shield.

At 115 vac there is not a lot of amperage left to create an arc and run the feeder and the rest of the unit , and the flux core wire takes a lot of amperage to burn both the wire and the flux . .

Will a ya219b snap on by century mig welder weld flux core wire

Are you using knurled rollers? Check the wire. Is it reversed polarity. Flux cored wire is very voltage sensitive.

How do you switch the polarity switch on the 115 farmhand versa-arc mig welder. trying to switch from mig to flux core wire.

Hi:
Disconnect you ground clamp form the negative side pole and switch it to the positive pole, same for the gun disconnect the from the positive side and switch it to the negative pole.
Good luck.

Hi:

Sometimes the drive motor collect a lot of metal dust from the environment and it requires a clean up. Take the tensor off and remove all wire, try to apply compressed air into it and then apply WD40 and run it. Make sure your tensor wheel it's not to tight and that you are using the right wheel size for the wire in use. Another problem rely on the gun liner if this one hasn't been change in 12 months, it is time to replace it, or, if it is not kinked at all, try to use clean air to blast out all metal particles from it. (take off you gas nozzle and gas mixer also known as contact tip holder).
Good luck.

Usually a flux core only welds steel. It is a higher penetration weld than a MIG. Usually it acts similar to 6011 rods in SMA (Shielded Metal Arc) welding -- a.k.a. stick welding -- if you're familiar with that. I don't believe there is such a thing as flux wire for aluminum. There may be stainless wire for it, but I've never seen it. It probably could also be used for building up cast iron and cast steel, but nothing structural. I have a Chicago Electric one and I love it -- simple and it penetrates hard. My 90 amp will weld to 3/8" without breaking a sweat and if I baby it will go to 1/2" or better. It is difficult to go much lower than 12 or 14 gauge though due to the high penetration.
