You must remove the spark plug and use a piston stop tool to prevent engine's crankshaft from spinning. An alternate piston stop method is use starter rope and fill the cylinder cavity to stop the piston. With piston block from movement you can remove that nut. Caution should be use as sometime these are left hand versions. Double check which you should be turning it.

Noisy loose fan.Found a nut in the fan and trying to get it to stay on fan shaft but keeps falling off. Will this fix problem if can get it on?

Take the nut to a hardware store and ask for a self-locking nut. That type nut shouldn't spin off again. That MIGHT solve the noise problem, if the fan blades are wobbling, or the shaft is spinning within the fan's center.

When turning off saw, blade continues spinning for 90 seconds or more.

Unfortunately, this is common on older model table saws. They do not have a blade brake and as far as I am aware it is nearly impossible to retrofit them.
If this is a newer model saw it's likely that the blade brake is malfunctioning and I have no experience with them.
Hope this helps and am very sorry if it doesn't.

Trying to replace water pump and remove the fan blade and assembly but in trying to loosen the nut the whole thing just keeps spinning. Any easy way of taking it off? Got a 1996 GMC sierra 4.3 6 cylindr

you need to use a long flat head screw driver and place it between two of the other studs and hold it while you loosen your nuts. do not remove them untill they have all been cracked loose. be careful you can get hurt.

I need to get the blade of the lawn mower sharpened.Any tips on how to disconnect the blade fropm the lawn mower?

There is a jig that you can buy that makes this job SO much eaiser. It is a universal jig that clamps onto the deck and keeps the blade from spinning so you can use a ratchet to remove the nut holding the blade on. One name brand is called a "Blade Hog". You should be able to find one of these at one of the bog box hardware stores.

Hope this helps,

take a pair of good vise grips and hook onto blade tightly, slide uo against back braket. that will hold the blade from spinning while you remove the nut, try bumping your ratchet/ wrench w/ a rubber mallet or hammer. hope this helps
