Yes, this is normally the case. The card is very small and usually not pre-installed in the camera. Look through the box and packing material to see if you have missed it.

My SD600 states memory card full when I use the original SD 16M card. There are 6 pictures on it and will not take more. What settings should I use to correct that issue?

The original card that came with your camera was very low capacity. As you've discovered, it can only hold a few pictures, and was only included with the camera to show that the camera works. You really should purchase a new SD memory card. These are very inexpensive (here's some from Amazon) and will literally hold hundreds of pictures. BUT make sure that you purchase a 2GB or small SD card, and NOT a 4GB or larger SDHC card. Newer SDHC cards were designed after your camera, and although they look exactly the same, they will not work with your camera.

How to recover pictures from sony cybershot

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download this photo recovery software called asoftech photo recovery
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

My hp officejet 7210 all in one will not read my SDHC memory card for my new Panasonic camera. Why? Should I purchase just a SD memory card? Will that work?? Thanks

Purchasing an SD card might be better. Just for the fact that when your printer was manufactured the technology for SDHC cards were still not incorporated in your printer.

I have put a new sd card in my camera, and its says memory is full. What could be wrong.

A few things can be happening first the SD card may have the lock switch in the lock position I'm including a diagram to show the correct positioning.
tri3mast_94.jpg

The next thing is you said you put a new SD card in. All memory cards need to be formatted to the camera they are going to be used in formatting cleans the card (yes I know it's new) and makes it compatible to the camera. Also each time you download pictures to the computer the memory card needs to be formatted to re clean the memory card and make it ready to accept new pictures. One other thing your camera has a small capacity in todays standards and the largest SD card I see being used is a 256mb, if the new card is larger then 256mb this could be the problem as well. If this is the case then it might be possible to update the camera firmware. However it would be a whole lot easier to purchase a 256mb card. Format the new card making sure the lock is in the right position and continue on as you have been.

I have a new memory card. I cant get pictures

Your camera is only supporting SD/MMC Cards (up to 1 GB)

The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.

You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK
Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

New camera won't work!

That message is probably because you have not saved any images in the camera's internal memory. Whatever pictures you took are on the SD card. Try taking a couple of pics using the SD card and try the review. If you are able to review, then all is well. If you cannot review, then one of 2 things:
1. Faulty SD card..Replace or format it.
2. Remove the SD card and take a pic. The pic will be saved in the camera's internal memory. If you still cant preview, probably a fault with the camera, and you'll need to service it.

Camera doesnt recognize a Secure Digitalor MultiMediamemory card?

The cause and solution may include one of the following: The card may not be certified SD or MMC. Purchase a certified SD or MMC memory card. The card may be corrupt. Reformat the memory card. CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. The card is not fully inserted in the camera. Turn off the camera, insert a card into the slot, then push to seat it.
