I have the same problem. It happened once before about 4 years ago just after I bought it. I put a DVD in without the power on. I was able to take it out and it worked fine. This time my daughter put the DVD in, I took it out but still no picture or sound.

Have you had any luck?

We turned it off heard a noise and now the red power light just blinks and the power will not come on again. Toshiba TV Model #32SF62 Serial #11100308

what was the noise? POP!

If so then a capacitor on the power board has fried itself. Most problems where the lighyt blinks and nno pic or sound or a breif logo and then black are as a result of a faulty IC or capacitors on the control board

Hi there.

If it's just a case of you not being able to watch HD films, but you can watch normal dvd's, then it sounds like you need to reinstall your High Definition video codec.

What software are you using for your dvd playback?

No pic..or sound

a lot of times when a set is dropped the printed circuit board gets cracked, the only way to tell is to remove the back and printed circuit board and check; if not too badly damaged can be 'hard wired' across breaks and fixed

Toshiba tv mod tp55h60

Is this set a tp55 projection or a 36a40 direct view? If projection, these sets are bad with convergence problem. Meaning the color goes haywire, red, green blue are all misalign. If this was not what you experienced then it also could be a sound problem or vertical. Either way if you press power and will not come on it's tell you that there is a problem that needs to be address.

it sounds like you pop the power Reg. transistor or one of the Amp. chips instide. Some Amps has a pic fuse inside on the main board its green very small shape like a tear drop with a wire comeing out both ends it would in a socket some times white or black.
