How do I connect defy oven to power

Question edited for clarity and toss in a load of CAPS.

Disconnect the element and the fan and check them both for continuity with a multimeter. If the circular element or the fan fails, nothing works, so it could be either.

The wiring should go to a cooker switch box...usually found at the back of an adjacent cupboard or on the wall. This will usually have a large red switch with a power indicator light and a standard switched socket.
On most installations of seperate oven and hob...the hob will be hard wired to the big red switch and the oven will be plugged in to the standard socket. So switch the socket off and see wether your oven is off...if the oven is connected to the big red switch instead then it must be hardwired...

Standard wiring colour:
Active - Red or Brown
Neutral - Blue or Black
Earth - Green/Yellow.

Best thing is to call an electrician as you do not want to damage your appliance.

There are possibly a number of options. It could be that in wiring the hob in you have disturbed the wiring for the oven. Normally the oven works off the main oven control switch on the panel and the hob could be wired into something else.
Is the oven totally dead no power at all for everything, or is the clock running but the oven will not switch on?

if its 240volt and you have a 3 wire receptacle, (crows foot) and the new stove has 4 wires:i.e. a RED-BLACK-WHITE-GREEN on the oven unit, your red/black are your 2 hot wires white goes to neutral, and Green is safety ground put the WHITE and GREEN together, as long as the receptacle comes DIRECTLY from the Main Panel in the House, they use a 4 wire systen in some locations depending on local codes/any new installs require a 4 wire plug install now per the N.E.C.

Your terminal block has been by-passed .
Hook your black cord wire to the black screw on the terminal block.
Hook your white wire to the white screw on the terminal block. Hook the bare ground to the exterior ground screw.
The 2 wires that are wire-nutted together will have to hook to the red wire on the cord.(they originally went to the third connection on the terminal).
You will probably have to cut and strip the red cord wire and attach it with the 2 wire-nutted connections.

If you are speaking of the 240v connection to hook up the oven to the electrical source, then white is the neutral(white to white), black is one of the 240v hot wires(black to black), and red is the other 240v hot wire(red to red).
Finally there is a bare or green color ground wire that goes to the bare or green wire form your source.
normally, the two outside wires on a terminal strip are the hot wires and the middle onif the neutral(white). It does not matter which wire(red or black) goes to what hot terminal at the appliance.
If you are talking about the internal wiring, I can get you a schematic of that.

You got it right,the green wire is ground.it should goto the grounding lug of the unit.
