SOURCE: 37" LG flat screen is

With the onset of more and more TVs being hooked up to cable, TV manufacturers didn't need to make the tuners as sensitive because the signal from the Cable Co. was much stronger than the over the air signal. If the other TVs are older they may be just sensitive enough to lock onto the channel signals. You could ask your cable provider to check your available signal in the house to see if there is the proper amount of signal. Some channels can inherently be stronger and when "block converted" (put where the cable company wants the channels) all come thru but some are a bit clearer.

How do I connect my sky to tv

Without specifics on your TV or SKY box I can only offer general information. The SKY digital satellite receiver will have a number of outputs for connection to your TV. There will be a co-axial output similar to a TV aerial connection which is for older TVs and most flat screen TVs won't be able to tune into this RF output. There will be a large black rectangular connector which is a SCART connector and this can usually be connected to most flat screen TVs with a suitable SCART lead. There should also be a small connector called a HDMI output which is now the most common way of connecting to flat screen TVs, requiring a HDMI lead. Depending on which method you use to connect to the TV, you then use the TV remote control to select the input you used, which could be listed as SCART, AV1, AV2, HDMI1, HDMI2 etc.

One amoung the Primary Colour Loss with Sony Trinitron TVs

The fault is mainly due to the video output section of the TV. The video output section can be located at the neck of the picture tube. The board that directly plugged on to the neck of the picture tube is its video output board, which can be detached out from the neck of the picture tube, by a straight backward pull.. Pull it straight forward, don't make any sideward or upward downward motion, as it may damage the connection pins of the picture tube. There are some hi-watt resistors and video output transistors,[ 3 of them to amplify three primary colors]. In some sets, this section will be composed of an IC. If ic is used, there will be no transistors at all. The most common problem for lose of one primary color to this type sets are loose solder points. The components in the video output section will heat up while working. Repeated heating and cooling may make the solder terminals of these components to get loose contacted.
Normally, some of these loose solder points are very minute, microscopic, to detect by normal vision. Some of them can be detected. Just do what we service technicians do, when we come across this kind of fault at service table. Just resolder most of the suspected solder terminals, by applying a little more solder to each point, without making any solder bridge short in between adjacent solder terminals. This must solve the problem.
If not, check the strip wire connection terminals that comes from the main board to this video output board at the picture tube base for any loose contact. Check its other end too, which is connected to the main board. These wires are the carriers of the RGB signal voltages. If there is some loose with this wire contacts, or a break in this strip wire, also may the cause of this primary color loss problem.
If there are no problems as said above, the chroma IC is faulty. There is no other way than replace it with same type and number.

There is a black line all the way across the screen and in the left side of the screen the picture is fading...

It sounds that the connecting wire, between T'Con board and LCD panel has a loose contact in any one end of its connection socket. Re-seat this flat cable [LVDS] once, and check. If you wish to get more details, check this link. Screen-shots to defective panel to LCD TVs are given. You can compare them to that of your TVs' and make sure about the fault.
Pull up previous posts by its left sidebar, or type in the brand name and model number to of your set, to its search box, and press 'Enter' or view it in Mosaic / Timeslide option.

Your flat panel TVs picture tube base board has soldering loose contact with it. Just unplug your TV from AC mains socket, and open it. Pull out the picture tube base card from the picture tube neck. Pull it out straight, no shake must be there, as it will damage its connecting pins.
Normally, loose sodering are very difficult to loacate, as they will be quite micrscopic in size. Just resolder all the suspected loose sodering point on that board, by applying a little more solder. This will solve your TVs problem. OK.

First when tapping changes the picture you have somewhere a bad connection; in electrical board or wiring.
When the screen goes blank after a while means some capacitor is bad/old.

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • DVD
  • RCA, component, or HDMI cable(s)
  1. Decide what type of connection to use. Look at the back of your DVD player. It should at least have RCA (red, yellow, white) output ports. It may also have component out, S-video out, VGA out, or HDMI out. These connections vary in picture quality and price, HDMI being the most expensive and providing for the highest-quality picture. Whichever type of connection you decide to use, you also need to verify that you have the same connection on your TV. Flat screen TVs typically have more connection options than other types of TVs, so you should at least have component, RCA and HDMI inputs.
  2. Connect the DVD payer to the flat screen TV. Take one end of the cable or cables you decided to use and connect to the output on the DVD player. The other end should be connected to the corresponding input on the TV. Video input connections are usually found on the sides of flat screen TVs. Once the DVD player has been connected, you are ready to use your DVD player.
  3. Check DVD player functionality. Tune your TV to the input that you used for your DVD player by pressing the button on your remote labeled "input," "source," "TV/video," Source select," "TV/AV" or the like. For instance, if you used an HDMI cable plugged into your TV's "HDMI 1" input, press the input selection button until you see HDMI 1 on the screen. Power on the DVD player, insert a DVD into the player and press play and you should now see a feed from your DVD player.
