I have a Samsung TV, half of the screen was vaguely showing, I replaced tcon from eBay, I got more of an image on the screen but not fully, so I replaced the main board again from eBay. When I put that...

distorted screen is it settings are wrong, samsung have a special menu setting you use to set up tv parts. and you have to press them in order on the samsung remote to access the setting. changing parts around will alter the setting, as each board is set up for different model. the setting menu is different from model to model but the boards can be in array of models, do a search for you model and the service mode menu code. and use this to change the settings on the main board to setup tv. its like a bios on a computer.

Best tv settings for samsung LE40A457

Best is kind of subjective since each person's eyes are different. If you are looking for a bright and vivid picture, you can go to the picture mode and change it to that setting. Usually it is called something like "Vivid" or "Dynamic." Besides that, it is all user preference. Most people prefer to just use the factory default settings.

Screen Resolution Problems with Samsung 50" DLP

Hi there,

You may have already done this, but check to see if you can change the screen size in the set-top-box settings and set this to widescreen 16:9 to match the tv. You may also have 14:9 as an option too. Also, check your video output settings, this can be changed between RGB, Composite, PAL or NTSC.

Let me know if that does or doesn't solve the problem

Samsung 46in.

This is a Plasma TV set, there is no convergence adjustments on this set. the convergence adjustments are for tube type projection TV sets. You could have a few problems with your TV. You could have a bad color whell assembly, a bad light engine assy. or a problem with the main board. This is not a set a that some who is not trained on plasma TV sets should attempt to troubleshoot and or repair. depending on how old this set is, it may still be under warranty. if it is not, call out only a Samsung authorized servicer, as they will have the boards and proper tools to service this TV. Good Luck
