Question about Pelco PEL-PMCL542A-S 42-Inch Liqued Crystal Display 500-Series
Your TV might just have a blown capacitor? It also can be a bad power supply not powering up the screen. The Backlight might be burned out but in my experience it always is a blown capacitor in the main board. If your handy with opening up the TV, look for a can like component that might be all black in color oozing a yellowish grease like substance? Replacing a blown capacitor is quite easy by just desoldering it and replace it with a new one of equal values.

Lcd tv's Do that when the backlight bulb is out. There should be a small panel on the back. Order a new bulb and replace it and it should work fine.
