1st I see you posted this question in the Printers area. You should not plug printers, particularly Laser Printers, into a UPS. Surge suppressor is fine just not the battery backup. Depending on the age of the APC, you may need to replace the batteries. You may also try turning off the entire unit then pressing the reset and turning it back on.
