You might want to add a few words to your question so somebody can understand what you are asking and it would be a good idea to add model and make information.

What pH levels are good for you?

The way that pH levels work is that a low number is bad, equal to 7 is neutral and more than 7 is good.

Blue water stains in shower

Blue water stains are not caused by hard or soft water. Blue water or bluish green water is caused by the PH of the water. Low PH can corrosion of plumbing (copper lines) causing bluish green water or water high in alkalinity/PH can cause the same issue. Therefore there is no adjustment on the softener to correct this. I suggest a PH test to see what it is. If the PH is 6.5 or lower a calcite filter is recommended to raise the PH.

The ph part on my test strips is brite pink why?

pH Scale
Examples of solutions on the pH Scale compared to distilled water are set out below:
  • pH = 0 => Battery Acid which is very strong Hydroflouric Acid
  • pH = 1 => Hydrochloric Acid secreted by stomach lining
  • pH = 2 => Lemon Juice, Gastric Acid, Vinegar
  • pH = 3 => Grapefruit Juice, Orange Juice, Soda
  • pH = 4 => Tomato Juice, Acid Rain
  • pH = 5 => Soft Drinking Water, Black Coffee
  • pH = 6 => *****, Saliva
  • pH = 7 => "Pure" Water
  • pH = 8 => Sea Water
  • pH = 9 => Baking Soda
  • pH = 10 => Great Salt Lake, Milk of Magnesia
  • pH = 11 => Amonia Solution
  • pH = 12 => Soapy Water
  • pH = 13 => Bleach, Oven Cleaner
  • pH = 14 => Liquid Drain Cleaner such as "Draino"

pH Scale Numbers
This scale is logarithmic. It means that each number is 10 times stronger than the preceding number. For example, a pH of 2 is ten times more acidic than a pH of 3 and one hundred times more acidic than a pH of 4. It is important to monitor pH because live depends on it. For instance, human blood is basic with a pH between 7.3 and 7.5. If the pH of blood drops below 7.3, acidosis occurs. If the blood pH rises above 7.5, alkalosis occurs. Death will occur if blood pH goes below 7.0 or above 7.8. Our human existence depends upon a balanced and buffered blood pH.

Smoothe surfaces underwater feel gritty... granular substance is adherring to the walls of the spa

Is this a gunnite spa/pool? Normally a rough surface indicates water that is too acid (I.E. pH is way low) The water wants to be 7.4 pH (7.2 to 7.6) ... and it will get there one way or the other. If this is the case in your pool, the water has taken the lime from the gunnite to satisfy the high acid level.

Please check your pH and other factors. Make sure your water is properly balanced to stop the lime migration ... Also check the calcium level ... should be around 300 ppm though it is ok as low as 175 and as high as 1000.

Low power it cant reach the max speed 100 k/ph

If you are talking about a 2003 RM125, it shouldn't reach 100k/ph, or 65 m/ph. But, ...
make sure the air filter is clean, your premix is 32:1, and do a compression test.
Finally, make sure the power valve is working, or you wont get that "top" end power.

How to fix ph and hardness in my above pool

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker First of all, I would NOT recommend you use muriatic acid as some people mention, unless your pH or alkalinity are extremely high. This is highly dangerous acid, and if you put in too much, then good luck getting your pH back up again.

You need to test your water with test strips, a droplet test, or bring it into your local pool store and they can test it for you. They should tell you at least your alkalinity, pH, and chlorine levels.

You want to make sure your alkalinity is balanced BEFORE you balance your pH. Alkalinity and pH are related - if your alkalinity is not stable (stable generally means it's between 80 and 120 parts per million or ppm), then your pH will be jumping up and down.

Once your alkalinity is between 80 and 120 ppm, then work on balancing your pH. As long as your pH is between 7.2 and 7.8, it is within a good range. If your pH is 7.8 or higher, you can buy pH decreaser or pH minus at the pool store. On the back of the container, it will tell you how many grams to put in, according to how many litres in your pool. If your pH is extremely high, like at least 8.5-9, then you could consider putting in muriatic acid.

If your pH is too low, you can buy pH increaser or pH plus and put that in your pool. Again, the container will have helpful instructions on the back of it. pH increaser is basically sodium bicarbonate (aka baking soda) so if you're hard up for cash, I've heard of some people just dumping baking soda in their pool. However, pH increaser is definitely better quality so I would recommend that first.

It's really that simple. If pH is above 7.8, dump in some pH decreaser. If it's below 7.2, dump in some pH increaser. You can buy them for under 10 bucks each at many pool stores.

Yes, you can add chlorine. Liquid chlorine will raise the ph a bit. Don't know what kind of shock you are adding, but wait a day, recheck ph level, than adjust.

high chlorine can cause problems too it will give false readings for your ph and alkalinity.
The most important thing to remeber is that there is a sequence to follow.
First buy a test kit for salt about 11 bucks for 10 tests. you need to have the ppm's at 3000
if it is to high drain 20% water re-fill and filter/curculate for 6 hours then test again. once at 3000 then go for your chlorine it should be between 1.0 and 1.5 with a test kit now with those 2 in line go for ph adjustment ph should be as close 2 7.6 as possible. Ph will cause more problems like cloudy water or algea more than anything else.
another thing you need to realize is that the intex salt system sucks. Once you set it for the # of hours to chlorinate you are basically guessing as to what is needed. Yes there is a guidence chart as to hours to run but it is over kill and lets too much chlorine be generated start with 3-4 hours of generating but remember also that at 4 hours generating that is nowhere near enough filtering
you will need to shut power off get it out of sleep mode and continue to filter
on avberage a pool should be turned over 3 times a day my pool 7000gl and the 2000gph all in one intex salt pump needs run at least 10 hours a day alone without the chlorinator
my pool only 18' so with your total gallons it will be longer
one last thing to consider is that when in chlorine generating mode the filter slows down because of all the electronics. You can not hear it happen but if you put your hand in front of the discharge you can tell
