The can mean that there is something interfering with the door when it touches the floor (maybe ice or a stone etc). If nothing is interfering, then you may adjust one of the usually white screws on the closer so that it does not close with so much pressure on the floor. Check for interference first. Check for binding, by operating manually with the emergency rope pulled to release the door from the opener.
