If you are using a sand filter and if the plumbing is incorrect you can flush sand into the pool instead of flushing dirt down the drain. If you are using a sand filter and the sand support screen material is torn you can get sand into the pool.

Index sand filter pump SF 20110 will not blow water into pool

I don't know how much time you are giving it, but sometimes when I start my pump, it'll take 20 minutes or so for it to start a full stream of water. Also, make sure the valves are turned to the unlock position on the incoming and outgoing hoses.

When I was filtering the pool the sand from the sand filter is blowing sand into the pool

That means that you have a cracked lateral in your pool filter. You will need to replace the lateral, which should stop the sand from entering your pool through the return line.

Blowing sand into the pool

If your pool filters blowing sand into the pool, it means that you have a broken or cracker lateral. You will need to have the lateral replaced and it should eliminate the problem.

I have an Hayward Pro Series S244T filter and I have had problems with sand blowing back into pool - the filter is only 2 years old

When sand returns to the pool, there is a hole in either the media or the sieve that is supposed to keep the sand in the filter.
All of the sand must come out of the filter, the sieve at the bottom (outlet of the filter) must be removed and any broken segments must be replaced.
The sand is then returned.

I have a S21OT sand filter that is running off the pressure guage and flowing sand back into the pool. The laterals are fine, I changed the sand, backwashed for about two minutes, and rinsed, The pressure...

Usually sand blowing back into the pool is either cracked laterals, a cracked hub assembly (what the laterals screw into) or a bad spider gasket is wrong with pool filters. If you are certain that the laterals and hub are not cracked then I would try replacing the spider gasket.

When vaccuming the pool the dirty water is comming back in the pool through the filter. I backwashed till clear. At first the water is clear but after several swipes with the vaccuum the water starts...

if the debris your are trying to vacuum up is more fine than the sand can catch (specifically with algae or dead algae), it will blow right through the filter. there is a setting on your filter called either drain or waste. when using this setting the water completely bypasses the sand and comes straight out the back wash outlet. this is a rather tedious task as you lose alot of water, but it is the only way to remove this type of particulate. make sure the pool is overfilled when you begin. good luck!

After backwashing dirt and sand blow back into the pool...the laterals look fine and sand was replaced 2-3 years ago

make sure the spider gasket in the multiport is not damaged or out of place. Also, make sure the spring is not cracked and the spider gasket seats well when it's on filter mode. If the laterals are good, this is the most likely problem.

There's sand in my pool!

I have had this issue with several clients and before worrying, you might have had sand being drawn back into pool lines during winterization. this happens when you blow out lines, plug holes, but keeping it pressurized. if it keeps happening check draw fins on bottom of filter.
