Question about Apple iPhone 5c
Ive tried resetting my phone and switching it on and off. its as if the pixels have gone from my phone
If sounds like the display has actually gone bad. Otherwise, it could also just the LCD lighting that has gone out. The digitizer sounds like it is still working, but replacing it could still be pricey if you are out of warranty.
I would recommend contacting Apple directly and checking the warranty dates for your phone. You can also contact the wireless carrier if you purchased through them. As long as you haven't damaged the phone in anyway, they will replace or fix it free of charge.

Have you tried a full restore (after backing up first)?

You have a broken digitizer or touch panel. Apple should give you a replacement. If you're out warranty, you can try to open it and replace the touch panel. You can get the part on Ebay or at iPhone Repair and there is a free guide that shows you how to open an iPhone and install parts at iPad Repair Guide.

this should probably work try holding the homescreen button and the lock button at the top for about 15 seconds it should restart and you'll see the apple logo wait for a couple of minutes and you should be fine
