Have you access to the CMD prompt ?
If yes, maybe we can solve the problem.
If not, you have to reinstall your computer, booting on the optical drive (CD/DVD). Be aware, doing so will ERASE ALL YOUR DATA.

My acre aspire 5517 keeps getting a disk read error occurred and I keeps repeating it over and over what do I do?

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

My acer aspire one zg5 got the blue screen. after loading the windows, it will stop then flash the blue screen then restart again and again. what will i do? somebody say my netbook needs to reformat. but i...

Follow these steps to fix a Blue Screen in Safe Mode

Once booting start, select "Safe Mode" from the boot menu.

Scan your hard drive by running your antivirus software . If the program locates an infection, move it to your vault or follow the on-screen instructions. After program completion, if a virus was removed, attempt to reboot your computer and see if this clears up the problem. If not, restart your computer in safe mode.

Restore your computer to a previous point. Click on the "Start" button. Select "All Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools" and finally "System Restore". Choose a restore point on or before the last day your computer worked without error. Finally Reboot your computer to see if it loads correctly.

My acer 1 when started up keeps going to a checking file system screen and just keeps doing a disk check

For that when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in "Safe mode"
Then go to start menu->run
Type in run "chkdsk /r"
then press "y"
then restart computer then it fix error on harddisk.
After completion of disk checking it load windows but if still not load windows then you need recovery disk or windows disk then boot computer with it then repair old windows.

Can't Get In My Computer

Do a Chkdsk:
Take the Windows XP disk. Boot from it, then DO NOT select F2 (automated system recovery) but continue through the procedure until you get to the point where you can choose between installing Windows XP and entering the Recovery Console. Once you get into the Recovery Console, do chkdsk and fix potential errors on your disks! Chkdsk C: /R

Or an XP repair:
When you boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I have an Acer aspire 5610 and all of a sudden I am having a problem trying to boot up. When trying to start, I get a screen that says WINDOWS FAILED TO START then it asks if I WANT TO LAUNCH STARTUP...

This may seem difficult but the cause is simple. Your computer is unable to locate a DLL file (dynamic link library) that is key for windows to start, unfourtunatly the only way to fix it is to reinstall windows. it will not affect your data, and all your programs will be there after installation. Just boot from the cd and follow the instructions on your screen.

Acer 5100 Vista Boot up issue

sounds like you need to reinstall the operating system. if you don't have the disk you can call acer and they will send you the disk. they might charge you for the disk usually between $15 and $30.

Acer Aspire 3610 laptop - Windows XP error

on a friend's Windows 98 SE or Windows ME computer, create a floppy "Startup disk". Insert in your pc floppy drive and turn on. If floppy drive was not accessed, then get to BIOS and ensure "Boot from floppy drive" is set prior to "boot from hard drive". Once at first screen, select "Boot with CD-ROM driver". Insert CD-ROM and initiate entire re-install of Windows. Windows may do some self-restarting. At first restart do this: get to BIOS and ensure "Boot from hard drive" is set prior to "boot from floppy drive".
