Many times a fan or heater setting over the extended unused period become blocked by mud daubers. I'd start by checking for one in the fan blade.

Does your heater use the older spark plug technology or the newer Hot Surface Ignitor (HSI) technology?

Without this critical information about all this technician can do is guess.

My best guess at this time would be either water in the fuel or a restricted fuel filter.

Please answer the following questions. There are several folks on the board that can help but we need to know some vital information so we can get started. Answer these, if you can:

  1. Which Pro 110 do you have. We need the exact model number. Pro 110 is a series of heaters.
  2. Does the heater have a spark plug or a glowbar (HSI)?
  3. When the motor runs is it pumping fuel?
  4. When the motor runs is the spark plug firing (or glowbar glowing)?

the first thing you need to do is go back to useing K1 kerosene, diesel fuel not only burns dirty but also has a tendency to gel up in cold weather which could be makeing it hard for the heater to draw the proper amount of fuel. To reset the pressure you will need a gage, it should run at about 6-7 psi. you can order a pressure gage from mr. heater online, they are by far the cheapest I have found as they are the actual manufacturer or call 1-800-251-0001

I have a 110,000 btu reddy heater model r110. When i plug it in it just makes a buzzing noise? I am pretty good at fixing things so i took off the top, the fan on the motor turns freely when its not...

Steven, I thoroughly enjoyed your thorough explanation of what and how it e. Really, the best I have ever read, so far.

What may have happened it that the fan sensor may need readjusting or resetting. In case you have misplaced your Owners Manual, I have included a link to it that you can download and print for future reference. Pay particular attention to Pages 6 & 7, as well as the Troubleshoot Guide. If all else fails, get a bigger hammer! Just kidding. If you find you need any replacement parts, you can order them directly for www.masterdistributors.com

Owners Manual link below.

Hope this helps you solve the problem.

Kersone reddy heater won't start, just buzzes

The R150B uses motor #097308-06, has a split phase motor. The secondary windings, which give the armature a jump-start, have gone bad. The motor is not serviceable. Try reddyparts.com - they seem to have the most parts.

150,000BTU kerosene heater won't start,just buzzes.

Your starting capacitor is bad. It's usually mounted on the side of the motor. If not, it's the thing that the motor wires go to from the end of the motor. Usually, less than $10.
