How do I install the scanner. I installed the printer, it works but the scanner and fax did not.

I just installed a canon mg 2120 printer to a new toshiba pc with windows 8. canon box and retailer It shows it's compatible. Went through all installation process, but printer keeps saying that it's "out of paper". I've loaded and reloaded the tray a dozen times. Printer just won't catch paper and run through the machine. What's wrong???

Sadly not. The cartridge error will have to be resolved before you can use the scanner/fax. You do not however have to have a full cartridge installed, the printer just needs to be able to recognise the cartridge.

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken .

Reinstall again the cd installer because its not completely installed.

But you can still use the scanner from your computer and not on the scan button of your printer.
Go to the Control Panel....Double click the Scanners & Cameras icon.. Double click the icon of your printer scanner.

Not work you need to find the windows 7 printer driver for it and it could be a job trying to find one as they are still selling there printers with xp drivers only, sorry.

scanner drivers have not been properly installed .it requires fresh installation of software after removink previous install of software. tell me ur operating system,i will give you steps to uninstall previous software and install new software.as far as fax is concerned,first we have to install drivers,then ur fax issue will be solved

you have to use other programs such as photoshop to use the scanner

Just as a try- set up a new printer like this Start/printers and faxes/install new printer When you get insert CD or select from list Take Select from list. select then Canon in the makes list and then the model from the model list. Click install See what you get. It is possible you will get the printer only and no scanner - I do'nt know, But try it.
