Air conditioners do not furnish any heat unless they are called "heat pump" or unless they have an electric resistance heating function.

I had the same issue...the temp is 30 degrees out side and like 50 inside...every time i turn on the heat the aux heat turns on...i tried to turn on the EM Heat but then the aux heat still turns on...i had...

You obviously have a heat pump. A heat pump is basically an air condition running in reverse. By way of example, during the summer time you will notice cold air coming from you vents and hot air being blown out of the outside section of you unit. And in the winter time it switches the flow of refrigerant (freon) and sends the hot air inside and the cold air out. So when the temp drops below about 45 and/or there is a high demand for heat inside the aux light will come on. When this happens it bring in the resistance heat (back up heat stripes) to accommodate for the added need for heating. Heat stripes do in fact burn a lot of electricity. My suggestion to you is not to make more than 5 degree increments of temp rise at a time on your t-stat. For instance if it is 50 inside, set the t-stat to 54, as the temp in the house rises you may continue to raise you setpoint...just never more than 5 degrees of room temp. Otherwise there is not much you can do for it on your own.

The control to the fan comes from the main unit and it runs all the time,. So check out the wiring for the voltage to appear on the fan terminals , there can be break of contact in joints of wire connectors.
Once the fan works the fault must clear off with the cold air blowing.

The cold air return is bringing cold air into the house

The Cold Air Return is really the Return Air. The Purpose of the Return
air duct is to pull the cooled or heated air back to the furnace. It then
filters the air before getting cooled or heated again.

This is what controls the thermostat, which starts and stops the unit. In
the end this is how your air stays conditioned. In some states it is
required by law that a 4-6inch fresh air vent be tied into the return air
duct. Everytime the furnace fan comes on, it pulls in fresh air from
the outdoors.

1995 Chevy Suburban blows cold once charged then hours later hot

Its a leak ...probably concealed like in an evap housing or rear air unit and lines (if it has that). Prob at this juncture I would remove all the freon and bring system into a vaccuum with a pump and see if it will hold vaccum for an extended period of time. A bad leak will not hold srong vacuum very long and much cheaper than wasting expensive and enviromental un0friendly refrigerants.

Does it look like a box with four flex ducts or pipes coming off of it? if so its a fresh air/ heat recovery ventilator, supposed to bring in fresh air, keep in mind, the outdoor unit does not bring in air, it is just a pump to the indoor unit. that unit may be running independently, or wired incorrectly
