Hi eamonn carter, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
Which belt size are you using?

I am showing that PN 532170140 being 1/2 x 112, PN 583036701 being 1/2 x 113 on US sites and PN 532170140 being listed as 13 x 2819mm (111") on an United Kingdom site. I don't if the UK is inside or outside measurement.

SUBJECT: Traction belt jumps off the pulley.
SITUATION: Incorrect pulley alignment causes the traction belt to jump off, usually when the drive is disengaged or as a hill is crested.
CORRECTION:
1. Remove the belt cover, engine belt guide and the bolt securing the crankshaft pulley.
2. Remove the auger brake assembly.
3. Remove the crankshaft pulley and the auger belt.
4. On the left side of the machine, remove the hair pin cotter from the speed control link and slide the link out of the pulley pivot assembly. The traction belt can now be removed.
5. Shorten the pulley half nearest the engine (PN 106-7334) shown in Fig 1. Grind or machine 1/8” (.125”/3.2mm). from the hub end of the pulley. The new finished length of the pulley half should be 1.07” (2.7cm).
6. Chamfer the bore to ensure the pulley fully contacts the shoulder on the crankshaft. You can send the pulley to an outside machine shop if you do not feel that you can modify the pulley in house.
7. Reinstall the pulley with a new traction belt.
A. Chamfer edge after grinding/machining.
B. Remove 1/8”.
C. Masking tape used as a reference line.
8. With the engine off, engage both the traction and auger levers and inspect the alignment of both the auger and traction belt idler pulleys (Fig. 2). Since we have moved the crankshaft pulley it may be necessary to bend the idler arms slightly to center the belts. Adjust as needed.
9. Install the engine belt guide and test operate.
10. Install the belt covers.

Do you see a belt diagram posted on the deck somewhere? If you do follow it. One very important thing to remember with belts is the v-pulleys accept the v-portion of the belt and the flat pulleys accept the flat side of the belt. If I can be of more help please feel free to mail me.Donnyb60

I need help putting rear end back together on a 10 hp30 Murray riding lawnmower

Safety and Preparation Serious injury can occur if the engine or mower blades accidentally start while you are working with lawn tractors. To prevent this, drive the Murray lawn tractor onto a flat work surface and disengage the mowing deck cutting blades. Engage the parking brake to keep the mower from moving; chock the wheels with a wooden block or brick. Adjust the mowing deck to the lowest position. Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition. While not necessary, you may even wish to disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug. Mowing Deck Removal You must remove the mowing deck on a Murray lawn tractor to gain access to the belts. Remove the adjustment rod hairpins, followed by the adjustment rod pins from the front left and right sides of the mowing deck. At the rear on the left and right sides, pull out the retaining hairpins and slide the mowing deck suspension links from the adjuster plates to separate the rear mowing deck from the frame. Remove the blade control rod stud, including the hairpin and washer, from the top of the blade control lever shift linkage at the left rear of the deck. Remove the front hanger rod, including the hairpin and flat washer that hold the rod in place. Loosen the belt guide retaining bolts with a socket wrench and remove the engine stack pulley belt so you can slide the mower deck out from under the tractor Transmission Drive Belt Installation Slide the new transmission drive belt between the engine stack pulley belt guides, over the belt guide plate and under the engine stack pulley. Fit the transmission drive belt around the top engine stack pulley. Push the free end of the transmission drive belt up through the transmission shifter hole in the lawn tractor floorboard. Slip the transmission drive belt loop over the transmission shifter. Pull the transmission drive belt down through the transmission shifter hole. Fit the transmission drive belt around the transmission drive pulley and tighten the transmission drive pulley belt guide retaining bolts to hold it in place. Fit the transmission drive belt flat side around the idler pulley. Slide the idler pulley onto the idler pulley stud while holding the belt in place. Tighten the transmission idler pulley retaining nut with a socket wrench to secure the idler pulley to the idler pulley stud. Mowing Deck Drive Belt Installation Pull back on the right side mowing deck mandrel pulley spring-tensioned belt retainer. Guide the new mowing deck drive belt around the right side mandrel pulley and release the belt retainer. Pull the drive belt spring-tensioned retainer away from the mowing deck idler pulley, guiding the deck drive belt around the idler pulley. Fit the mowing deck drive belt around the left side mandrel pulley and under the rear mowing deck cross link rod between the right and left side mandrel pulley. Slide the mowing deck under the right side lawn tractor frame, reconnecting the deck to the frame in reverse order of removal. Engage and disengage the mower deck while driving the mower to test the belt for proper operation.

Can you show me the correct diagram for the drive belt on a 44in Dixon zero turn mower

Hope this helps. Serpentine Blade Drive Belt
1 Lower the mower deck to its lowest position.
2 Route the serpentine blade drive belt (part number 6109) onto the V-pulleys located on the mower deck. One double pulley is located at the front of the deck near the center. The other two pulleys are located near each side of the deck. Route the belt around the outside -- the side toward the outer edge of the mower deck -- of each pulley. For the double pulley near the front of the deck, route the belt around the lower pulley (part number 6058) only. If pulleys are fitted with belt guards, work the belt in between the pulley and shield.
3 Push the idler pulley toward the center of the deck with your hand. The idler pulley (part number 6059) is the fourth pulley on the deck and is located near the rear of the deck. It is the only movable pulley on the deck. Wrap the belt around the side of the pulley nearest the edge of the deck. Release the idler pulley to place tension on the belt. No adjustment is necessary because the serpentine idler spring (part number 6065), located on the idler pulley, adjusts the belt to the correct tension.

Need diagram for a poulan xt 30" belt route on deck .Belt keeps breaking shortly after changing I am beginning to think that all the gumballs from the gum trees may breaking it is that possible

Two things first if it just keep breaking..the most probable cause would be the belt on one the spindle or drive pulley " on engine " is routed around most of the pulley then over the belt keeper instead of on the pulley grove..or the keepers are way out of adjustment the keepers have sharp edges on the outside and will tear up a belt in no time...as for the routing most are simple and follow the same procedure,,first look at all the pulleys on the mower deck...there are two kinds the drive and idlers..the drivers are attached to the engine and spindle where the blades and have deep v shape and have on or two belt keepers attached very close on the deck..the others are idlers including the tensioner that engages the belt and keep tension,,they do not have v they are flat with two small right angle edges to keep the belt straight they are designed to ride on the flat back side of the pulley..first detirmine the rotation of the pulleys the starting at the engine drive pulley place the belt in and follow to the first pulley in the direction of mowing all the way around the then operate the engage/disengage lever it will move the engage idler pulley..fit the belt on the flat side the locate others and do the same..you will need to play with it awile but you will find the route...just remember when you do route it look for and adjust the belt keepers..they are there to keep the belt on when running disengaged...you know the results once off the pulley a torn up belt...this is long but i believe if you take your time it will help...good luck.

Looking for how to refit drive belt on my LTH1742

The drive belt goes around the transmission pulley (located under the cooling fan) then attaches to the engine. You will then need to loop the around the idler set. You will find a "v" shaped pulley and a flat pulley. The flat fits on the outside of the belt and the belt fits down into the "v" pulley. You need to remove the tension of the idler set to fit the belt.

Belt does not go back on with enough tension.

Are you replacing a broken belt? If so then the belt should go flat side of belt in toward drum. Make sure the belt is not in the slight channel in drum put belt from right under guide around idler then insert loop under idler and attach loop to motor. Should end with ribbed side of belt on pulley.

There's a couple of things that could be causing this. First, make sure the idler pulleys and blade pulleys spin freely. Second make sure the belt is behind the belt keepers on the two idler pulleys. There is only one on the left idler, but TWO on the right idler. I suspect that is your problem. Anyway, once the belt is on, engage the blades, with engine OFF, and inspect the belt routing, making sure it's not over or under something it shouldn't be.

Dryer takes three cycles to dry took apart need help put back together

Model #?
If this is a standard dryer with the idler pulley, place the pulley into the slots to the left of the motor pulley. Bring the belt through the idler so it is running on the flat side of the belt and place the belt around the motor. The idler should be placing down pressure on the belt keeping it tight. make sure there are no twists all the way around the drum or it will pop off.

Surpentine belt.

depends on which v8 you have....the 4.7 the routing is as follows it goes under the waterpump pully over the alternator down and around the power steering pumpto the crank...it goes under the bottom of the crank to the idler pully.the flat side of the belt goes ver the idler then around the automatic tensioner to the ac compressor.
on the 5.2 and 5.9 it routes starting at the idler pully the flat side goes undr the idler the up to the ac compressor around the compressor and down to the power steering pump ... around power stering pump to waterpump where the flat side is against waterpump pully around water pump down and around crank up it automatic tensioner....around tensioner and up and over alternator
