Camera won't trun on or charge.

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the power will not turn on.

Ensure you are using fresh or fully charged batteries. Check if the battery using is NPBG1 (supplied)
  1. IMPORTANT: Batteries discharge more quickly when used in cold weather conditions.
  2. Attempt to turn on the camera.
  3. If the issue is not resolved, try replacing or recharging the batteries if available.
  4. Attempt to turn on the camera in Playback/Edit mode by moving the mode switch to the Playback/Edit mode or by pressing the playback button.
  5. Switch the unit to camera mode and attempt to turn on the camera.
  6. If the issue is not resolved, try connecting the AC power adapter to the camera and a working electrical outlet. (Skip this step if the camera being used does not support the use of an A/C adaptor.)
  7. Attempt to turn on the camera.
  8. Try power resetting the Camera. (Remove the batteries from the Camera and then press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery after 1 minute and check if the Camera works normally.)
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required. If you're located in the U.S, online repair request can be created for getting the unit serviced at the Factory service center by clicking the link below: https://eservice.sony.com or else by selecting your country from Sony Global webpage.
