Replacing uhp lamp and remove ballast with Xenon lamp and 55W ballast!

You are going to ruin the optics using a Xenon lamp. The ballast in the TV talks back via UART to the CPU. By removing the ballast the TV cannot talk to it and run itself properly. Also using a xenon lamp will give terrible color reproduction as its not putting out nearly enough lumens in the right spectrum. It will also bombard the color wheel and DLP chip with UV light and ruin those as well.

Headlamps not working.

is the light setup one ballast for high and low beam ? if so the ballast has gone, probably even the bulbs. replace the ballast and bulbs. some aftermarket ballasts don't last, if you cannot find the right ballast for replacement you will need to replace both ballasts. as every ballast set are set the same and sold in pairs.

Headlight problems

n I've noticed that not all bulbs are the same and they have voltage drops causing one to burn out sooner. Replace both at the same time and if you can find a two pack that would be better.

How do I replace the ballast in an InFocus IN26? And while we're at it, where do I get one? I've already replaced the bulb with a new one (direct from InFocus), reset everything to factory settings, and...

remove the front and rear bezels, remove the top cover, take a picture of the location of screws and ground wire on the metal frame. remove the top boards, remove the metal frame and there is the ballast/power supply. pay attention to the way the cable is routed to the lamp connection, also pay attention to which way the connection from the ballast is seated in the lamp housing. hopefully a new ballast will fix it for you, as to where to get one, that's iffy. you could try to find an in26 on ebay that has other problems but has a working ballast

I need to replace the lamp on my hitachi. should i also replace the ballast. thank you

For normal bulb replacement, there should be no need in replacing the ballast. Just be sure to put everything back like it was after changing the bulb. There are interlock switches that must be right for the set to come on. Thanks for using fixya.

Two different size ultraviolet ballast. The .71AMP ballast feeds two 40W ultraviolet ''UV'' bulbs. The .37AMP ballast feeds one 40W ultraviloet bulb. The two light to larger bal;last want come on. The...

I usually test the ballast simply by excluding everything else.

1) Put in bulb that you know works
2) Replace starter (if you have one)
3) check that wiring is intact (sounds like it is for you but I had one light that the wiring barely made contact so sometimes it came on and sometimes it blinked)
4) If all that is good, then it's probably the ballast.

I have a floralux 400hps light that siopped working. there is an oily substance that came from where the onboard ballast rides. I'm assuming that the ballast is shot. Is it replacable, where do I puchase...

Souds like the capacitor has leaked. It should have some numbers on it and can probably be replaced for less than ten dollars -hell with a complete ballast kit or new ballast!
Good luck & be sure to unplug the thing before taking it apart. Mark your wires and be careful not to get zapped in case the capaitor is still retaining some power (you can short the leads to be sure). Dan in Des Moines
