Get rid of all the old fuel Start afresh
Strip out the carb noting which needle screw is which
Make a slot in the screw head for a screwdriver adj. with a fine toothed hacksaw
Lay the carb parts on a white cloth removing the fuel needle and watch the spring, do not drop , it,ll bounce to some dark place
Blow the orifices with compressed air, reassemble Fit the fule valve needle and then slide the spring onto a fine scewdriver and offer it under the flap
Screw both screws in til they seat--not hard, back off 1 and one quarter turns
Now refit the carb, its a mission unlike a Husky or stihl
It should fire now with full choke
If it runs and does not accelerate --flat spot, then slowly ease the Lo screw out until it accelerates freely
If it still will not, fit a carb kit

MacCulloch 839 Petrol Chainsaw.Erratic running

Check the fuel filter, air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Warm up the engine first. Pull the throttle full on and try turning the H jet needle CW with the engine 4-stroking, but which immediately 2-strokes when cutting. This will not produce the highest speed, but will produce the most power and least heat. Be sure to use fresh fuel mix at all times. Hope this helps!

Macculloch 14'' (350)chain saw,and cannot get my saw to fire up there are three adjusting screws marked T L H how many turns back for each screw from the closed position to enable a rough setting to fire...

t is your throttle stop
l is your low speed jet for fine tuning low rpm.s and idel itself.
h is high speed jet.

basic settings for the L and H jets are one turn out / open

throttle stop will vary but once you have it ideling you can tune that one while you are holding the trottle then go back to the L jet till u got it running sweet. then re adjust throttle stop if necessary. now move on to high speed jet.
