I have an Seiko ER 9000 which has had reset problems when changing batteries on two separate occasions, this caused keys not to work also lockups, pressing the reset button did not clear the "fault". After removing and replacing the batteries several times and then leaving it for a day or two the problem cleared by itself and then worked perfectly. This as I said happened twice when changing batteries. I can only think that this a logic circuit getting Jammed up. I'm afraid that time and patience is the only cure. I hope this helps

SOURCE: Seiko Concise Oxford English Dictionary,

The answer is yes!.

First of all put of the the system for some time then put it on again if possible allow it to restore it memory before operating step two if one fail to solve the problem.

Put of the system totally remove the battery (power supply)carefully if possible for just one minute then replace it back to it position properly and turn on the device.

Finally, if the above solution can not solve the problem then it then means that the electronic system has develop a flex problem which might need a replacement.

A flex is a electronic power distributor connector to the screen from the panel.

Thank you and thanks for using fixya.

How I cured my Seiko ER 9000

This is what I did to "cure" my ER 9000 from locking up etc.

First remove the batteries. Wrap the ER 9000 in four or five layers of cling film ensuring that it is completely sealed. Place it in the freezer overnight. When you remove it the next day, DO NOT remove the cling film until the whole thing comes up to room temperature again otherwise the ER 9000 will get wet from condensation. This should take 2 or 3 hours to be certain. Now remove the cling film and wipe the unit to ensure that it is dry. Refit the batteries ( new ones if you can) then and this is important PRESS RESET before you do anything else. If all is well it should come back to normal. I hope that this is helpful and you have the same success as I had.
If this is successful please give feedback, Thanks
