Do you have the remote turn on lead hooked up to solid blue wire from the back of the deck? Your amp shoild be hooked up to Bluw w/ white strip as the solid blue wire shuts off when the tuner is off, its used only for the power antenna.

Use Blu w/ Wht strip for amps

Can I make the Denon AVR-2307Ci receiver have a passthrough for 3D?

I believe it is like my Denon AVR-3808 as it's a HDMI v1.3 compliant. For 3D you need 1.4. So I now use optical cables to the AVR and HDMI to the TV. Then config the DNLA player to split the video to HDMI and the 5.1 sound to optical.

Try checking the sound settings on your tv. You may want to change the output to PCI instead of dolby.

Connect with componet cables.

The only digital audio input for this TV will be via the HDMI input. Of course, even with HDMI in, you're only going to get a simple stereo output from the TV. You can use the analog L & R audio inputs for a very similar sound from the TV speakers.

The digital multi-channel audio (Dolby Digital, THX, 5.1, 7.1, etc) encoded in the program should be connected to a suitable multi-channel amplifier with either a TOSLINK (optical), RF (coaxial) or HDMI cable for theatre-like sound. This can be done by (a) cabling from the source (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) directly to a multi-channel amp and speakers, or (b) from the HDMI output of these devices (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) into one or both of the TV's HDMI inputs. This will provide only stereo sound output from the TV speakers. You should connect the TV's TOSLINK optical "Digital Output" jack with an optical cable to the amplifier's TOSLINK optical input jack to obtain theatre sound.

To listen to the program shown, you would select the amplifier input assciated with the optical, RF or HDMI input that is connected to the source (DVD, BluRay Disk, Set Top TV Tuner, etc.) if connected directly. If the TV HDMI input(s) are used, they are output to the TV optical output and should be connected to the amplifier optical input. The amp input associated with the optical input should be selected to hear the program with theatre-like sound.

How do I set my receiver to read TV/CBL Dolby Digital. It is a AVR 789

The Dolby digital signal is outputted only through the Optical or Coaxial socket of the CBL box. you will have to get an optic fiber or coaxial cable depending which cable box you have and connect it to the digital input of the Denon receiver. The Denon's digital input are already assigned at the back. Eg: Optic input might be labeled CD so if you are connecting the CBL box to the optic input remember to select CD on the Denon to hear the cable sound, same goes with the coaxial input.

How to connect and set up my DENON AVR-3300 to my LG tv. Waht connections on amp and tv do I use?

Hi,
  • if you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your receiver, AVR-3300 ** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV
** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input"
** than just switch to respective mode on
AVR-3300 RECEIVER corresponding your RCA or Optic connection...
There you go..Your TV sound is on the
AVR-3300
Receiver..By this means whatever you watch on the TV (tuner, satellite , Xbox ) ,it's sound will come thru your stereo..
  • Hope this helps!

Hi, how can i hook up a wireless 5.1 headphone to a denon avr-3808 using an optical connection. I can't find any optical output port on the denon amplifier.

My manual shows two optical outputs labeled "2 (DVR)" and "3 (VCR)" at the upper right of the rear panel.

It's unclear what will appear there when playing any particular analog source.

(Pioneer PDP-4340HD Plasma with PDP-R04U Receiver) My HDMI input works, however having a computer or Xbox connected via HDMI I do not have the optical output signal thus I can not hear audio through my...

I don't have a direct solution but I am having the same problem when connecting (1) my Apple TV (2) my Blu-Ray player, etc. via HDMI. I also have a digital camera that puts out HDMI, and when I hook it up, I get the same story -- video only, no sound through the optical digital output of the TV receiver.

I am guessing that the HDMI inputs were an afterthought on this model, especially since the printed manual doesn't even show or mention the HDMI inputs at all! So my guess is that the TV's receiver does not convert the sound from the HDMI to the optical digital output. It does, however, send the amplified HDMI sound to the stereo speaker outputs on the monitor. It appears that only the digital tuner's 5.1 sound comes out on the optical digital output.

This is what I have observed, for what it's worth.

I have just bought a new bose 901 speaker system which included equalizer. I am not sure how to connect the equalizer to my receiver Denon 3808. I need help.

http://products.bose.com/pdf/customer_service/owners/901_guide.pdf

Be advised, this speaker system requires its own dedicated two channels of signal preamplification and power amplification and the required Active EQ is not to be used in the signal path of anything else. I have them as my Main Left and Right Speakers in a 7.1 set-up, but I'm using a 5-channel external Carver Power Amp to drive them, a sSb and the Rear Surrounds. The Active EQ is between the Receiver's Main L&R Preamp Outputs and the two Carver Amp channels that drive the 901's. Don't think you can just add the 901's into your living room and enjoy multichannel sound. Search around fixya, I have written extensively on this subject.

On our Durabrand DVD/Vcr Combo, I get picture, but no sound..I'm using a S video as conectors!

S video connector is used only for video, you need to connect the audio separately via the RCA audio connectors or via digital coaxial or optical connector.

You can read more on S video standard here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video

Also see the related topics on audio, maybe you should consult the user manuals for your dvd unit and the amplifier that you use to get more info, but normally the sound can be connected via these connectors on the rear panel of dvd units:

- main left and right analog signal out RCA connectors (2 channel stereo signal - amplifier set to analog signal)

- main left and right, sub, center, surround left and right analog signal out connectors (multichannel surround signal - amplifier set to analog signal)

- coaxial digital signal out RCA connector (a single cable that takes the stereo or surround signal to the amplifier in a coded digital form - you need to set the amplifier to the digital signal mode to enable this kind of signal)

- optical digital signal out connector (same as the coaxial digital output, the difference is that the signal is in the form of light pulses instead of electrical pulses - the amplifier should be set to the digital signal mode as well)

Hope this helps somehow - if it doesn't, post me some feedback, perhaps a brief description of the units that you want to interconnect...

regards
