Question about Refrigerators
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.
You unit is locked in defrost. You have a defrost timer problem. This is a easy fix.
In your fresh food section, not freezer, are your unit controls. If you look up, about have way back, you will see a small hole.
Look at the following picture:
At the upper left is a nob for a screw driver. This component is face down, about half way or middle of the control plastic cover.
So, with the screw driver turn the nob clockwise. You will hear a click. Keep turning one click at a time until you refrigerator turns on.
Now, the refrigerator has turned on. You have a bad defrost timer. It will not come out of defrost. So, until you replace the defrost timer which is easy you must force the timer through defrost.
Every 8-10 hours your unit goes into a defrost mode. Where it shuts down for about 20-30 minutes. So, once again, you must shut the unit down manually at least once a day.
Having received the new defrost timer:
1.) Unplug your refrigerator.
2.) Remove the hex head screws from the control panel cover. There are 3 screws. Be careful not to remove the two screws holding the defrost timer until you are ready.
3.) Having removed these screws, pull the control housing toward you. In the rear of the control panel are tabs and slots.
4.) Unscrew the two retaining screws holding the timer, and replace.

SOURCE: Frigidaire refrigerator
check the overload, take it loose and inspect it for a burnt spot shake it if it rattles replace the relay
you either have a relay bad or a stuck compressor
the compressor has a 5 year warranty on the part, the relay 1
so if you relpace the relay and it still doesnt run the compressor, call for serviece under warranty

Frig requires either compressor relay or the compressor itself...should have some warranty still, so call an authorized servicer. Ray

I appreciate your inquiry, Rick Baran!
From the information you have provided the fan inside of your Frigidaire refrigerator continued to run and would not shut off thus freezing everything inside of your refrigerator. Now, the refrigerator is not cooling and only the lights are working. Sounds like you may have a possible problem with the control panel or wiring harness within your refrigerator. I would suggest having a professional technician come out to perform a diagnosis on your refrigerator. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Hope this helps. -Matt

Hello friend, thank you for your post!
It sounds like there could be an issue within the sealed system or control panel of your Frigidaire refrigerator. Are the lights still showing on the front and inside your appliance? If they are, I would recommend a reset to the refrigerator, which you can do by unplugging the appliance or flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. Once you have performed the reset if the compressor or fan does not start up I would contact a professional to accurately diagnose your refrigerator to determine the root cause. -Matt
