There should be a small electric motor that turns the wheel that looks like flames. That little motor may not be working making it look like the flames don't work. May have to replace the motor.

How do you adjust the pilot light flow on an old magic chef heating unit/ceiling mounted furnace?

How long is the pilot flame? It could be you can move the thermocouple into the flame by making adjustments of the metal holder. If the flame is small, there is an adjustment for the piolet flow in the control module where you turn gas on and off and light the pilot. It should be labeled and usually has a cover that must be unscrewed to reveal the adjusting screw. Need a bright flash light to see what you're doing.

Burning smell when running car ? Oil or electrical ?

open the hood and observe the smoke(if any) electrical smell will show a yellowish color with a blue/green/red yellow flame and it moves fast..oil smoke and antifreeze smoke(vapor really) will sort of "steam" off from near the area its leaking from when hot.. brake smell and clutch smell are almost the same since both use like materials for friction..keep an eye on this for potential problems and may need to move the vehicle outside so if it goes up in flame the house wont/grarage whatever//

Whirlpool Cabrio Gas Dryer. Will heat for a short time then stops. usually gets stuck around the seven minute mark and wont move from there. Cothes are soaked. I checked all internal parts with multimeter...

Hello,
If what happens is the flame comes on when it first starts,after the flame goes off you see the igniter glows then goes off but no flame,the coils that open the gas valve are working while thier cool but once thedryer gets running,when warm to hot the gas valve coils wont open the gas valve so when the igniter comes on and no flame the coils have failed to open gas valve and need to be replaced, all manufactures use the same coil supplied by one parts supplier, and them not opening the valve when warm is a very common occurence regardless of what brand gas dryer it is.
The part number for the coils is 279834 they could be picked up from your local appliance parts store for under $20 or online at;

Make sure ALL covers are in place. Watch the pilot flame. It should not move around. If it does, there's a draft blowing it out.

WONT FIRE UP Hayward h150 Pool heater

Is the thermocouple in the pilot flame? It has to sense the flame and provide a signal to light. or, is it a flame sensor? Same thing, must be sensing the pilot flame. This is the first step for it to light...

Dryer flame on magtag wont stay lit. Pilot flares up but no flame

Thermocouple is probably bad. The pilot burns and heats a sensor which tells the CPU that the Flame can start, and the thermocouple heating up changes voltage with increase temperature and tells the CPU that the Flame is burning OK. If it is defective, there is no voltage change and the CPU assumes that the Flame didn't start for some reason, (Gas only!) and turns if off for safety. Over and over xx times.

Blue flame heater pilot wont stay lit

There is a therma-couple that the flame burns against. When it is working correctly it allows gas to travel to the flame. When it goes out you get no gas, as a safety feature. Replace the therma couple and it should work again.
