Question about Televison & Video
Most likely your power supply or main computer board has bad electrolytic caps that require some "charging" time before they warm up enough to turn on the set. This happened to me on a 42" LCD flat screen and I was able to determine which one - it was only one on the main board that was the bad cap - by using a hair dryer to heat it up enough by holding it in one area until I could determine which one it was. This helped a lot of people who were going to trash their sets because this $.50 cap didn't have a bulging top or leaks like they do most of the time...you should look for that problem too of course. Once you find where it is, you can normally go on eBay and buy replacement caps and diodes to solder in as replacements...get a friend who has experience if you are not comfortable doing this yourself because you can wreck a good board with poor soldering techniques and then it will cost more than it might be worth to replace those boards. I'm in the process of repairing my son's 37" set right now where we think it is the power supply board and there is a slight clicking/chirping sound as it tries to turn on...had many bad caps but now we're down to replacing some zener diodes. Good luck! Dave

Testimonial: "Hey Dave, Do you think it makes more sense to just replace the main computer board first, and if there is still a problem go ahead and replace the power supply? I don't think I would do a great job at the soldering. Thanks again for any help."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

There's a couple transistors on the Power Supply board that are probably bad. On mine, the solder joint was bad on the bottom side of the board that pointed me at those transistors in particular. Part number is FQPF9N50C. Also, you could get a refurb or new power supply board of ebay or send your board in for service (also on ebay).Or there's a "repair kit" you can get that contains 4 transistors and a couple caps I think. If you are an electronics junky and like soldering stuff, that would be the way to go... I just ordered the two transistors off ebay for like $6.

This problems is very common on Sharp tv after a year or two.I have one too 46" Aquos. The tv Tuner signal board have problems, but this tv still usable. My tv does Power and OPC LEDS lights flashes alots many times as the tv getting older. This how i solved it.If POWER and OPC LEDS lights flashes, just press the remote power again wait awhile.Sometimes POWER and OPC LEDS lights will flashes again, just press the remote power button again and wait awhile.Sometimes POWER and OPC LEDS lights will repeat like 3 or 4 everytimes, just must press the remote power switch wait awhile eventually the backlight, will light up the Tuner signal board kick in and work.Have to press the remote power button and wait for the POWER and OPC LEDS to stop blinking and the Tuner signal board to kick in.But like POWER and OPC LEDS blinks 10 or 12 times and remote power button press 10 or 12 times,it time to replaced the tv Tuner signal board.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.
