Yes, you will need a Surround Sound Processor to power the speakers.

The home theater box performs the production of the sound generation. Also, the theater box, distributes the sound to any display devices like TVs, Music MIxers, DVDR, VCRs, ext. The theater box also has connection ports that are recognisable as receptacle area from speakers, woofers, and twitters that combined to form the home theater of devices acquired. First, start by connecting the component parts of the theater system to the box. For example, speakers to an area on the box, twitters, woofers. At which point, the box would require a power cable to an electrican circuit to display functionality mode. The next step is deciding on which display reciver would be providing sound to the theater setup of blasters. For example, choosing to acquire sound from a TV set is achieved by connection cables that derived sound out of the TV to the theater box. E.G. The TV audio output area provides the connectivity of any external audio blasters like with the theater setup. Using the appropiate audio input output connection cables to acquire sound transfer matters. The device may not have been provided with a TV audio input out cable of connections. Acquire from retail input output cables from TV to theater boxes. Remember that, the theater box may have come with a remote control that require separe operations than the TV. The theater system theraafter would require power on buttons if any separate remote controls were acquired as well. Also, the television set would require alteration settings with the remote control. Adjusting the TV sound settings to acquire or direct internal sound to an external setup infrusture is possible explanation also achievable with TV REMOte controller soon after every wireing cables have been established alos powered on to source of current. Hi, Hiss soundare from RCA cables. You need to reconnect again, but using a different cable for connection.

And also sometimes home theater acts that way during test mode, Check the manual and you will see how to set the home theater to see the mode that will allow all speakers to work. It's a normal thing when connecting a newly bought home theater. It the settings.Use the manual.

Take care.

I bought a new Magnavox LCD HD TV and need an audio system

Their not showin it on this site, but go directly to the Sony site and look up the Sony Bravia DAV-HDX 285 system. Its an awesome inexpensive system (compare to other systems). Features everything you need including the reciever and 5 wireless speakers and 1 wireles woofer. I love the wireless stuff because your not trying to hide wires, it looks nice, and its easy to install. Hope this helps.

I was given a Sharp HT-DP3000 reciever and all the speakers that go with it.. but I don't know how plug in the speakers into the wire there is a box for the two surround and a separate box for the right...

Do you have speaker wire if not you will need some, the wire is cheap about $5 bucks a roll your local department store will have it. You see a red and black tabs on the back of the unit and on the back of each speakers you push down and stick one wire in the hole. red will be your + and black will be - The two surround go on the back wall behind your seat. The center will sit on top of TV and the sattalite speakes go beside the left and right side of TV. and the sub sits on the floor in hidding behind something or under a table. (P.S, Make sure the wire is shaved about 1/4 of inch before you stick in the wire DO NOT plug the power cord in, intill you hook up all the speakers this could damage the unit. You do not need a sub woofer, if you have one great If not don't worry that will not damage the unit it has a internal switch to turn on/off the sub woofer The sub woofer offers extra deep bass that you can't get from the sattalite speakers.)

Hi,
You please check the ohms with the woofer watts so that the same frequency of the woofer you can fix of different company, otherwise there will be damage of the circuit board so please use the appropriate frequency of woofer speakers.

Am setting up a bose GSX 3-2-1 home theater

Need to know the TV connections. On newer TV's there RCA jack connection or ext speaker connections. Usually the external TV speaker connections hook to the woofer and the rest of the speakers are connected to the woofer. The woofer acts as the sound system for the rest of the speakers. With this method you need to mute the internal TV speakers by a swiich on the TV or internal TV setup menus and select ext speakers.
