Contrary to the answer above which I think uses three numbers -7, 1 and 13, I believe the answer is 7 and -1

7 x -1 = -7

7+ (-1) = 6

Quod erat demonstrandum (QED)

-7x1=-7 & -7+13=6

A calculated "central" value of a set of numbers.

To calculate: add up all the numbers, then divide by how many numbers there are.

Example: what is the average of 2, 7 and 9?

Add the numbers: 2 + 7 + 9 = 18

Divide by how many numbers (i.e. we added 3 numbers): 18 ÷ 3 = 6

So the average is 6

This answer is correct. 4/12 divided by 2/2= 1/3

The reciprocal of 2/2 is 2/2

Then you multiply straight across and reduce to get 1/3

3/8=r+2/3

multiply both sides by 8

3 = 8r +16/3

multiply both sides by 3

9 = 24r +16

take 16 away from both sides

-7 = 24r

divide both sides by 24

-7/24 = r

multiply both sides by 8

3 = 8r +16/3

multiply both sides by 3

9 = 24r +16

take 16 away from both sides

-7 = 24r

divide both sides by 24

-7/24 = r

The "Commutative Laws" just mean that you can swap numbers over and still get the same answer when you add, or when you multiply.

The "Associative Laws" mean that it doesn't matter how you group the numbers (ie which you calculate first) when you add, or when you multiply.

hi lilwallace;

The federal excise tax of 8% on the round trip ticket is calculated by multiplying 8% times the price of the ticket. Remember 8% is written as .08 when we multiply.

$832 times .08 = $66.56 is the excise tax

$832 times .06 = $49.92 is the sales tax

Now we just add the ticket price plus the excise tax and the sales tax and we get $832 + $66.56 + $49.92 = $948.44

Hope this helps Loringh PS Please leave a rating for me.. Thanks
