Contrary to the answer above which I think uses three numbers -7, 1 and 13, I believe the answer is 7 and -1
7 x -1 = -7
7+ (-1) = 6

What does average in math

A calculated "central" value of a set of numbers.

To calculate: add up all the numbers, then divide by how many numbers there are.

Example: what is the average of 2, 7 and 9?
Add the numbers: 2 + 7 + 9 = 18
Divide by how many numbers (i.e. we added 3 numbers): 18 ÷ 3 = 6
So the average is 6

Can you help me on this question?

This answer is correct. 4/12 divided by 2/2= 1/3
The reciprocal of 2/2 is 2/2
Then you multiply straight across and reduce to get 1/3

3/8=r + 2/3

3/8=r+2/3
multiply both sides by 8
3 = 8r +16/3
multiply both sides by 3
9 = 24r +16
take 16 away from both sides
-7 = 24r
divide both sides by 24
-7/24 = r

What is the diffrence between the assosiative property and the communitive property in math???

The "Commutative Laws" just mean that you can swap numbers over and still get the same answer when you add, or when you multiply.
The "Associative Laws" mean that it doesn't matter how you group the numbers (ie which you calculate first) when you add, or when you multiply.

Somehow you're calculating 12!/(5!/7!).

Put both arguments inside the parenthesis.

2ND MATH 7 3 6 , 3 ) ENTER

The comma between the 6 and 3 is required (it's the key just above the 9).

If a call takes 2 minutes in length how many calls can be made in 7.5 hours and how did you get to that number, my math is rusty

Its simple, 60 minutes in an hour / 2 minutes length = 30 calls per hour.
30 calls per hour X 7.5 hours = 225 CALLS
225 CALLS

Help please

hi lilwallace;
The federal excise tax of 8% on the round trip ticket is calculated by multiplying 8% times the price of the ticket. Remember 8% is written as .08 when we multiply.
$832 times .08 = $66.56 is the excise tax

$832 times .06 = $49.92 is the sales tax

Now we just add the ticket price plus the excise tax and the sales tax and we get $832 + $66.56 + $49.92 = $948.44

Hope this helps Loringh PS Please leave a rating for me.. Thanks
