How much memory do you have left on it? If you are close to the max limit, delete unused apps and photos to free up necessary memory. Go into settings and check there.

Whats the difference between trash and junk and how can I get rid of junk quickly?

Trash would be anything that you delete that comes from people you get email from. Junk would be like junk mail...unwanted or spam emails. Usually junk/spam email deletes instantly so you cannot retrieve it if you make a mistake. Trash usually deletes in 30 days. Some email servers allow you to change those settings as well

My ipad has too much on it I need to clean unwanted programs and leftover bits from deleted programs

If you go into Settings > General > About. You should see all the information of your iPad. You will notice how many songs, videos, photos and applications etc.. you have. Also the capacity of the iPad (in terms of GB). Keep in mind, approximately 1-2GB of data is used by iOS7 (or whichever software update you have). Hope this helped!

Have Generation 1 iPad (MC825LL). IOS 5 is software installed. There is no message to initiate an upgrade to IOS 7 on the "General" page. How do I upgrade to IOS 7?

The ipad 1 will not update to ios 7 because it will make it run too slow, and u don't want it at the speed it will run, apple decided to not let the ipad 1 work on ios 7 because of the speed and it would also make it crash heaps.

Empting the trash can when I am through putting my old emails in it

Dear Thomas,
There is an easy way to empty the trash folder on your iPad email app. Here is how:
1. Open the "Mail" app on your iPad.
2. Tap on the upper-left icon in the Mail app. It might say, "Mailboxes" or in my case, it says "Gmail".

3. Tap on the email account you are using. Mine says, "Gmail", yours might say, "Yahoo" or whatever program you are using.
img_0355.png 4. Tap on the "Trash" folder for your email account.
img_0356.png 5. Now that you are looking at the items in the trash folder, tap on the "Edit" button located just to the right of the word, "Trash".
img_0357.png 6. Tap on the "Delete All" icon at the bottom of the screen.
img_0358.png 7. A larger "Delete All" button will appear. Tap on that as well.
img_0359.png 8. In a few seconds (or longer if you have lots of messages in the deleted folder) all your messages will be gone and the "Trash" folder will be empty.

How do I empty the trash can on my ipad

Hi! Well, I'm happy to inform you that there is no trash can on the iPad. Apple is trying hard to simplify the usage as much as they can, hence no trash can to be found.

How do I empty my trash can on the iPad?

Hello sir !

Empty Trash Can

In 1982, when Apple created the Apple Lisa user interface, they implemented what they called the Trash can. The trash can is essentially purgatory for files a user no longer wants. Once sent to the trash, the user has the option of restoring the file back to its original place, or annihilating it completely from the computer’s hard drive. Unless there is a backup of a user’s system from before the file was sent to the trash, there is essentially no way of restoring that file once the trash has been emptied.
This metaphor was carried over to Windows 95 in the form of a Recycle Bin. Perched on the desktop of countless millions of averages users was this bin which, when empty, looked empty, and when it contained files, looked full.
There is safety in the Trash Can metaphor. I know that in order to really delete a file from my system, either on Windows or on Mac OS X, I really have to work at it. Yes, there are times when files are accidentally deleted, but for the most part if I realize my mistake before I empty my Trash, I know the file is safe.
