Samsung tv made loud noise and will not power up

Sounds like capacitor exploded. Check power supply area. Flat panel tv's use cheap capacitors. Most likely this capacitor is in the power supply area. The top will be popped, they're made to pop when they go bad. Have professional fix it.

Won't heat, sounds and looks fine

The Titanic looked fine! :) You have blown a fuse. Check inside the oven chamber and look for missing powder paint or signs of arcing, if so there is a paint to repair microwaves for this issue or else just dispose of the microwave. If the inside is good remove all the screws and remove the cover. Replace the fuse. If the magnetron was making louder noises prior then replace the magnetron. Since the fuse went the giant capacitor is likely bad. While the cabinet is open make sure to look for burned wires, check the continuity of thermal cutoffs, and check the main circuit-board for burned traces or components. The relays in most electronics are known for arcing (spot welding) and staying in the wrong position. Tap them hard with the back end of a screwdriver. During all of this use safe electrical practices by having the power cord unplugged. The capacitor could still have a high charge on it so be careful.

Red Light Won't Stay On

1. Remove batteries from remote to "zero" it, then reinsert batteries
2. Turn on TV (RCA?)
3. Press and hold CODE SEARCH button until indicator lights
4. Press and release TV button. Indicator will blink and remain on
5. Enter code from list in instructions
6. Point remote at TV and press on-off button. TV should turn off
7. Use remote to turn TV on again and press CH+. If TV responds you're all set; if not, repeat the process with the next code

I have a watson 42"

This can be a coincidence and not related to your switching . Please power off the set for a while as it is possible that the processor has hung up due to some power issues. If the fault does not clear on switch on it indicates a fault relevant to the processor. It is possible that most of these indicate that there are errors in the processing section . Since there is a possible short or leak in the circuit the output driver section can take in huge current to trip the SMPS or from advice from the micro processor. Remove the power plugs and make sure that high voltage sections are discharged of the potential stored in capacitors. Look for visible signs of leak or of busted capacitors. Look for bulged capacitors or damaged components- burnt or busted. Use a multimeter to check the continuity or shorting in components, if so detach from circuit and test . If the voltage builds up and the set power ON and then shuts up then the suspected section must be checked in detail.

The processor must have the +5 voltage to the function properly , the +B and secondary voltages also must be checked to infer the fault. Trace with caution and in running through the signal path , circuit trail.

Check for tips to check the SMPS unit:

After pressing the red sync button on the console for about 10-15 seconds, and syncronizing the remote, the remote stars to work, but when I start a game the remote is no longer working. Then when I...

There are two ways to sync the Wii remote with the Wii console after pressing the red sync button like you did:

1) Press the "1" and "2" buttons on the Wii remote until the lights begin to flash. This method provides a temporary connection to the Wii.
2) Open the battery cover on the Wii remote and press the red button next to the batteries. This creates a permanent connection or "pair" between the Wii remote and the Wii console.
Based on your description, it sounds like you are using method #1. In order to power on the Wii when the Wii's red light is on (meaning the machine is turned off) and start playing games like you want, method #2 must be used.
Imagine method #1 as "guest mode". If a friend comes over with their Wii remote and wants to play a game, you would open up the game first, use method #1, and your friend would temporarily be connected to the Wii. Using method #1 is like "owner mode" that lets the Wii remote turn the console on and off and always stay connected to it.
Hope this helps!

Power supply button not getting on

Hello talwar,
Hi, the easy level would be to check for the following parts 1. fuse, if open, replace 2. faulty switch, check for continuity using a multi-tester device. 3. check open wire/power cable
if this cannot solve the problem.
this would be the hard part 1. If the fuse replaced, exploded again, check for shorted parts like regulators, diodes, capacitors. 2.the fuse is good but still no power, this is power supply failure, needs service. (there is too much explanation and testing involve)
call your local service shop for a job. thats it.

Brookstone jumbo remote control - 2006, I've lost the manual on how to program it to my parents RCA tv. It does not have a code search button on the remote itself.

finally found answer online... power off the TV press the tv/dvd/aux/etc button until the red power light turns on and stays on, then press the power button on the remote one time, then once it's on use the channel up/down button pressed repeatedly until the TV turns on, then select input to store the code.
