Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Every time we switch the tv on we have to go through the set up operation. how can we stop this so that it comes on as normal.

Until recently we could put the TV on and it would come on as normal ready to watch. But now for the last 2 weeks every time the TV is switched on whether at the plug or on off mode on TV we have do go through doing a service scan every time we want to watch any thing.

How do I reset clock, not been used for a while.

There should be a time set button. Hold it down until the numbers flash (the hour usually flashes first, but sometimes it's the minutes). Then use arrow buttons to advance the hours/minutes. Switch to the next setting with (probably) a mode button. If that doesn't work, start over and keep trying buttons until you find the right one. Once the time is correct, most clocks will return to normal operation 10 seconds or so after you stop pushing buttons. Others require you to press one more button.

What does hdmi is blocked mean

Hello!
HDMI blocked could mean, that one or more HDMI inputs are turned off. In WD- series DLP TVs it's possible to disable one or more inputs, which are not to be in use, to speed up signal source switching. Most of modern sets are constantly monitoring inputs and automatically recognizing "plug"n"play" signals. blocking any input would not cause TV to shut down.
Yellow(amber) light means: lamp door interlock switch is off or malfunction. green blinking: set is initializing, about to begin normal operation. So: quite possible that lamp has been replaced incorrectly or door is not tight intermittently. Last possible issue: door's interlock switch is bad. Take lamp door off and you will find the switch with blue lever on the left side of the door inside plastic compartment. Push it with your "pinky" or pencil carefully, then ask someone to turn set on. Make sure, yellow light is off, before do so. If set starts normally, observe lamp's activity: it should stay on and getting brighter, while you holding switch. If lamp stops working, while there is no "amber" light, then TV shuts off, red blinks, lamp is bad. I just had to replace lamp twice, due to defective batch of lamps with housing. 3rd time I replaced bare bulb and it solved the problem. But there was no "amber" issue!
good luck,
Alex.

Hi Maurice.

Circulating is Fan Assisted mode. In this mode the fan kicks in when temperature is reached and runs all the time.

Here an extract from manual.

There is no preheat unless you set temperature. That is why you get the fan from start.

Sony Trinitron color TV model no. kv-27v22

dear, you can check that transformers out put before connecting to a tv. also when its connected to a tv.
get a avo meter and connect in series with a tv.
observe the current on the intial switch on and when the picture goes. if you notice that current on intial switching is high and then it starts going lower and lower, then change the transformer.
but if the current starts going up from the intial current then check the power supply components of the tv.
thanks for asking fixya.
