Question about Radio Communications

FCC ID K7G T8500

Again, a little goofy. I've charged them up, have them both on channel 1, and they just make that "wheep" noise like they want to talk. I appreciate your help!

Make sure that the security/privacy codes/tones are turned off(or the same, but off is better), and also ensure that you never use them within ~5-10 feet of each other as it can damage the radios.

Check your Qt filter setting. It works best in the "off" position.

SOURCE: We have 4 T8500 - only one can talk, the other 3 only recieve.

Can you tell if the radio is actually transmitting? Is there any sound on the transmitting radio or a light inditcating that it is indeed transmitting? If not maybe the PTT button is malfunctioning. Try to use a microphone plugged into the accessory jack and see if it works. Another option is if you have a radio scanner, search the frequency range while transmitting and see if you pick up that open carrier.

Not charging and no light saying it is

There is a possibility that the battery could not be taking the charge, but typically the light is red while charging and green when done. Sometimes if the is fully drained it can take up to 15 or 20 minutes before the red charging light comes on. Try leaving it charging for 24 hours.

Try checking the vibra call settings for your vibrating issue. Also, as for the radios not communicating with one another you should check the programming of the frequency, interference eliminator and the Qt filter. All radios must be identical to work together.

Motorola T8500 Communication Problem

Check your interference eliminator code, and also your Qt filter. Try setting both to the off position (zero) and see if you have the same problem. Another thing to check would be your batteries and battery contacts.
