Question about Air Air Purifiers
It has static sounds. Cleaned it and used power blower on it
Check where wires attach to collector plates. Possibly there is a a burn mark there. Or these units also spark when humidity is very low.

Can you give more information ?? I presume you are using an ioniser . In that case the above advice will do but if it is a HEPA air purifier most of them tend to be noisy and if the noise is unusual probably the fan is running at a faster speed than the stipulated limit .

you need to turn it off and remove plates, put in kitchen sink and spray with windex and dry with paper towels, now clean the bottom of the three plates too.
before you reinstall the plates look down inside you will see three thin lines of metal, make sure there is no lint or dust on them, reinstall and let set for five min. to allow any windex that might still be wet then turn on low for a couple of min.then go to medium
