You have got 2 choices.
1. Replace to LCD screen, get a repairman to do it for you or do it yourself. If you want to DIY and purchase a new screen have a look at
2. If you don't want to replace the screen then connect an external monitor to the laptop, then it won't be portable.

SOURCE: replace broken LCD of dell inspiron 1525 with new

Why do you need to replace the whole screen?
Have you worked out exactly what is wrong?
The screen may have a faulty CCFL lamp or a faulty inverter, replacing these is cheaper than replacing the whole screen.
For parts, service and DIY info have a look at LCD Parts WEB site.

How do replace dell inspiron 3250 base

Please search yourtube for help here.

This is a very complicated procedure, very time consuming and hardly worth the effort. It is the equivalent of replacing the chassis in an automobile since everything inside this laptop is attached to the base. If the laptop is really valuable then okay but... And search ebay for the model to determine it's value comes up with nothing. that is to say there are no returns so I think the model must be much more specific since there would be lots of listings for parts, batteries, screens etc and completed auctions for the same. Sorry but more info is needed to learn what you have and what it takes to do what you want to do and help determine if it is worth it. (there is a inspiron 1512 for sale for $12 as an example of is it worth it?)

If you want to recover your files, then try to use it over a lap top cooling base. And then take it back to store. They will replace it.

Over time the hinge on my Dell 8100 Inspiron gradually froze up and broke the aluminum block in the middle of the the screw that held it in place, ie. half the threads on each side of the broken piece. ...

Very common break, best is to have service performed by some one that knows what they are doing, machine has to be taken apart and new base installed, sometimes if slight break they can be epoxy. but usually needs new base andor hinges.

Overheats and shuts down

first of all make sure your notebook has good ventillation to the base ie: not resting on bedcovers or simaillar items which will block the base where the fan is sittuated, this is vital to enable your machine to draw in air to cool it down. secondly can you hear the fan running if not the fan could be clocked jammed or even broken, alternatively you could check or replace the heatsink , this is an object in your machine which absorbs the heat.

hope this helps

Broken bey on computer keyboard

If the key base or the key support has actually broken you will have replace the keyboard, they are inexpensive on ebay...around 15-25 bucks. If the key just popped off, try to rock it back on its mount either from side to side or top to bottom, you will be able to hear and/or feel it pop back in its mount.
