Question about Cell Phones
Windbreaks are used on microphones to prevent wind noise being heard. Usually comprised of foam or formed feather like material, they are placed over a microphone to prevent noise from either a persistent wind or even spitting and lisps from users of the microphone. Most cellphones use electronic windbreaks, also known as noise cancelling technology to handle wind and background noise as well.
