How do I raise the level of my refrigerator door to be even with freezer door?

I can't seem figure out how to raise my refrigerator door. The instructions/diagrams that came with it don't seem clear. I have included the instructions per the manual below in quotes. "To level the doors using the adjustable lower hinge (Type 1 with set screw): 1 Before leveling either door, remove set screw that locks door height into position. (The door cannot be adjusted without set screw removed.) 2 If the refrigerator door is lower than the freezer door, raise the refrigerator door by turning the adjustment screw clockwise using a 7/16 inch wrench. (See illustration 3.)" First, I have no idea which screw is supposed to be the "SET SCREW". The diagram in the illustration is small and grainy. Second, there is nothing on the illustration labeled "ADJUSTMENT SCREW". If any has successful adjusted a door on this type of refrigerator, I'd appreciate any guidance you have.

Thank you for your inquiry, Leland Dodd!

I see that you are having difficulty in raising the level on your Frigidaire refrigerator, FGHC2331PF. I have reviewed your manual and there are two types of adjustment for either front rollers or lower hinge. If you are having issues with adjusting the doors or leveling your refrigerator I would recommend having a professional technician out to properly level your refrigerator. Best of luck! -Matt

How do i raise/lower frigidaire refrigerator/freezer doors

Hello friend, thank you for your post!
In order to provide you with accurate information could I please get your model and serial number? Each refrigerator has different sets of instructions for leveling doors. Typically you can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside wall of the fresh food side of your refrigerator. I have included a link to search for any available manuals. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Re: GE Model TFX24R Side-by-side 23.6 Cu ft Refrigerator Regrigerator door is visibly low and needs to be raised to correct closure, stands open. Cannot find any instructions on door height adjustment...

if you go to the sears site, look at the bottom of the fresh food door and you'll see the cam. cam raises the door, have you found any plastic pieces near the fridge, the picture of the cam is black, some are white or black, you can also look at the bottom hidge of both doors and you should see the part that's gone or broke.the sears site isn't working correctly,i don't know if it's my computer or the site but i had to go to another site that i use to look up your machine, next time you write in get the model number off of the machine, when you get the model number off of the manual it's a partial number,if you open the fridge door and look up on the right side near the ceiling you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers, good luck, the fridge door is easy to do,no wires or water lines to deal with, remove the cover on top, remove the screws and lift the door off of the bottom hindge, empty everything off of the door first, then lay it on it's side and change the parts.good luck,if you have any other questions let me know,i'm in the boston area,if you're around here and get stuck let me know and we can come by and take care of it for you.

Refrigerator Door won't stay closed

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Part 12 on this diagram is your cam.

Shutting down fridge/freezer when moving house

Other than un-hooking the power and any other connection like water, then defrosting to get rid of any ice buildup then prep for moving...the only thing you have to be aware of is transporting it in an unright position to protect the condenser. Here are the steps:

1. Remove all food from the refrigerator and pack all
frozen food in dry ice.
2. Depending on your model, turn the thermostat control
(refrigerator control) to OFF. See the Setting the
Controls section.
3. Unplug the refrigerator.
4. Clean, wipe and dry thoroughly.
5. Take out all removable parts, wrap them well and tape
them together so they don’t shift and rattle during the
6. Depending on the model, raise the front of the
refrigerator so it rolls more easily OR screw in the
leveling legs all the way so they don’t scrape the floor.
See the Door Closing section.
7. Tape the doors shut and tape the power cord to the
refrigerator cabinet.

Front light will not work

Before you go any farther stop. Unplug the refrigerator for the wall receptacle then look into the light socket (use a mirror if necessary), now see that contact point in the bottom of the socket? Raise that contact point to where it will ouch the bulb when you screw it back in. Now screw in the bulb plug in the refrigerator and open the door. Did I do OK ?
