Question about Polk Audio SurroundBar 4000 IHT Virtual Surround Speaker Bar with

1 Answer

I have a Polk Surround bar 4000 and it will not produce sound when powered up. The green light comes on first and a second or two later the blue light comes on with no sound production. The only time

It will work after multiple attempts to power the unit on and both lights come on at the same time. I have attempted to change the speaker channel and sub channel. I also tried to unplug the speaker for a minute or so and the problem continues.

The Dell AS 501 monitor display comes and goes off in seconds. If I switch off and on again, the display comes back and goes off again in less than a second. I repeat this as many times the same monitor...

This sounds like the power inverter is failed.. It's what pumps up the power for the light in the monitor.
You could try unplug the sound bar from the back of monitor if you have the sound bar installed. Just a maybe..
To fix the inverter (replace) is usually better to buy newmonitor unless you do it your self.
The defective LCD Backlight inverter will cause the following symptoms:
  • No Display, but Power Indicate light stay on green (Or Blue).
  • Screen flash on and off and the power indicate light stays on green (or Blue).
  • Dim Display

Hooking up surround sound

a few basics..
Power off amp before unplugging or plugging anything into it.

make sure you label you cables makes it allot easier later when you have to fix or replace something.

white and red are normally positive while black or green/blue is negative.

try to avoid hooking up your rear speakers to surround rear that usually refers to side speakers no harm done but you wont get the sound you want. same applies to zone 2
