Icing problems/6 yr. old unit/will not go into defrost/replaced defrost board, thermosta and other boards and it's still frosting up

May also need to check the defrost timer, u can get by and test manually by placing a small screw driver into the tiny slot or hole underneath the timer and turn slowly clockwise till u hear 1 click. this will engage ur defrost cycle in about 15 minutes u should be able to come back and feel the heat in freezer as it melts the ice providing ur terminator is not bad?
Another way to test it is with a multi meter. Remove timer it from fridge and you will see 4 prongs numbered 2,1,4,3 in that order. Place ur meter prong on prong 1 & 3 (if your fridge has a capacitor wired in series with the windings, then u check for micro fares rather than OHMS) If u cannot confirm this test, still try the next.
Take ur meter prong and connect to prong 1 & 4, it should read resistance or ohms ( closed) now remove prongs and place on prong 1 & 2, this should now read infinity or open (no ohms) now take a small screwdriver place it in the tiny hole or slot under the timer. Turn it clockwise slowly till u hear 1 click. Now ur 1& 2 should read closed ( showing ohms or resistance) now place meter prongs on 1 & 4 and you it should now show open ( or no resistance - no ohms) this is how u know ur timer is good, Remember when testing for ohms ADJUST meter to use a high ohms rating in the thousands as the resistance is very high in OHMS. And adjusting to low ohms rating may give a false reading or not show the proper resistance..

Another item to check with a meter is the heating element itself. Located under the evaporator coils. It should show continuity or resistance OHMS WHEN TESTED AT BOTH ENDS OF THE PRONGS .

Lastly check the cold control thermostat with a meter for both OHMS and volts ( VOLTS is a live test with fridge plugged in so be careful) It must show 110 volts. An open or thermostat that reads infinity will not allow the proper cooling and defrosting cycles to operate and may in fact stop anything from happening as if there is no power to the unit?

I wish to know the species, names and number of deciduous trees.

The world has thousands of species of Deciduous Trees. You probably need to limit your work to an estimate in a particular country. Canada alone has nearly 200 species of just deciduous trees

I have a Technics PR-305 Digital Piano back light, can that be repaired to make it light up brighter with out changing any resistance values, that would shorten the life of the LED?

No, LED are rated according to the amount of current they can carry.
they wil only burn out if one was to exceed their value.

Please tell me how to check the mother board & resisters & ic~s power values

This is a college course you are asking for.
On older motherboards, the main source of issues are the filter capacitors on the board. Look for any where the top of the case is slightly or even prominently rounded. These need to be replaced. Be aware this is difficult to do! The capacitors need to be cut off carefully and the leads CAREFULLY extracted from the board. The holes have to be clean of solder fill and the new parts have to be rated the same or higher in ALL values, temperature rating included.
Regulators come in specific flavours. 5 volt, 3.3 volt, 2.5 volt and 1.1 volt. The boards will run one regulator into the other, one at a time to spread the heat out. Its pretty difficult to replace these without damaging the board unless you have practice. Regulator values are in the part number. You can look up regulators on electronic parts sites like Digi-key, etc. Regulators have three leads, one has power in, one is connected to ground (0), the third is the regulated value. A voltage off by 5% is rare on a working part. The leads may not follow any order. A flat pack case is usually power, on a stand up case the tab is usually ground.

Flat screen monitor has gone black

You can test capacitors with an ohmmeter. A good capacitor behaves like a short circuit when you first apply a voltage, then its resistance increases as it charges. The capacitors that fail are electrolytic types with polarity, so be sure to put the meter ground lead on the capacitor negative. The cap will be marked. An open capacitor will show no kick in the reading, and a shorted cap will show a constant low resistance.

Now, having said all that, ohming a capacitor isn't 100% effective as a test. A capacitor's value may change to the point where a circuit will stop working, but if the cap isn't shorted or completely open, or is just a very low value, the ohmmeter test won't show a problem. A capacitance tester is better. Many digital meters include a capacitance test function.

Most inverter circuits have only a small number of capacitors, and it's usually faster just to change them all. If you replace a capacitor, keep the capacitance the same (the microfarad value) but use a little higher voltage rating. Caps come in standard voltage values, and they get physically larger as the rating increases, but if you just go up one level the new part will usually fit. The main reason these go bad is that the manufacturer used too low a voltage to begin with. It keeps costs down, but the parts are stressed and often can't deal with it.

Gemmy light show lollipops not working right

The gemmy light shows are amazing when working correctly. BUT that may be for one season only. I bought the white trio set of Christmas trees after one season the trees turned brown, tried to get in touch gemmy. Two days later my reply was I improperly stored my trees. All the other set of trees I've seen turn brown after one season. As far as I know gemmy quit making the white trees. Long story short they did't warranty my trees, as for the lollipops 4 or 5 light systems aren't interchangeable, I tried to replace the led in my 5 light system with a led from a 4 light system the led worked but wouldn't sync. When trying to make repairs you must use parts from alike sets of the same year models, alike models from different years don't work. Also when changing led circuit boards solder the wires the way you take them off or you'll short the board out. If you have bad sets of lights you can make repairs if they are alike.

Resisters questions

Its best to replace both IC's. As far as the resistors, there are location #'s marked on the board where the resistors are mounted. If any look burnt, get the location numbers off the board, and your model # and email me @ I will get you the resistor values.
