wait did it boot up and shows it bios features yet when it reaches to windows xp logo (if its operating system is windows xp) it shutdowns?
try to reload the bios (if you are able to) it is done by press delete while it loads or F2 depending on your computers bios then set of your computer into the default setup and exit and save then b4 it reaches windows xp logo press F7 and use the safe mode...
and click yes to restore your computer to its earlier setting
there is an instruction that will aid you to restore
