Processor lock up? Try unplugging it for 2 - 3 minutes and see if it is ok after reconnecting. Also, locate the remote and remove the batteries - if a button is stuck it could be causing the problem.

All input sources eg. DVD, cab/sat, cd, tuner etc have audio out of the amp ... but not the tv. Can someone help me with this one?

Have you checked to make sure the TV connection is from the correct TV output? The TV is not on mute? Recheck all connections. The amp obviously works ok.

I have a sharp aquos 32 my son has ripped out the input bit can i solder back on

It can be replaced but if part of the tuner a bit tricky for a novice---a suggestion:

If the set has audio/video input jacks on rear---use a cable box etc to route the signal into those--select that input and change channels with the box--------you can even use a old vcr and connect your signal to it and route it that way---get around the issue.

typical repair if the tuner itself is not damaged (fitting goes into it) can average over 100 dollars and double that if tuner has to be replaced----if you get the fitting replaced get a slide on adapter for the end of the coax so if it gets yanked it will slide off......

My tv wont go to the cable

If it was working and you did not change any connections etc---Unplug the set and the box and if using a receiver also---leave them off for a while and with them turned off plug back the power- this will allow the units to try to reboot---often a box causes this issue--a glitch with the box for example can "confuse" the TV.

Another simple test before you do that is to see if a DVD player etc alone connected to rear inputs on the TV works or not--if it works the issue is in the line going to the tuner in the TV--box reboot might cure that.

Su-c800u pre-amp switching not steady, keep darting from one mode to another and disrupting smooth flow of music

I had the same issue.the contacts on selector switch is dirty. All u need to get a good contact cleaner and spray the selector rod( remove knob first with preamp facing up), the liguid will find leak into selector and clean contacts.
after doing mine, the slector knob feels more solid when turned and does not change input anymore.

CAN I PLAY TV THROUGH MY EPSON MOVIEMATE?

Hi,
you can play TV through any projector if you use an external tuner. This could be a satellite tuner, freeview box of similar. It has some type of aerial, cable or satellite input and handles channel changing etc, and sends a picture to any attached external display.
Most tuner type devices will have a Scart or 3 x RCA outputs, modern equipment may have DVI or HDMI. Avoid HDMI initially if possible would be my advice, simply because the copyright protection can be a real pain. You'll need to make separate provision for audio (eg, attach your hifi to the tuner)

Yamaha rx v1800 receiever will only play tuner on zone 2 speakers

Solution on page 111 of the owner's manual:

"Connect the source component to the analog audio input jacks of this unit to play back the source in Zone 2 or Zone 3.
This unit does not output the audio signals input at the DIGITAL INPUT and HDMI jacks to the ZONE OUT jacks."

Basically you cannot use an HDMI input if you want to play in Zone 2 or 3. A simple solution is to add an extra audio cable from your PS3 audio output jack to an analog audio input jack on the receiver.

Mp3 to aux input

Try putting the unit in standby via the "SRC" button FIRST..., then press the menu button and cycle through to the "AUX 1" option and activate this....then press menu button again. When the unit is next switched on, you should have an "AUX" option accessible via the "SRC" button which will cycle through all of the availale modes ....standby-tuner-cd-aux etc etc.
