277 cc is equal to between 7 and 8 horse power
357 cc is equal to about 13 horse power.
Brigs changed their rating several years ago when every thing went metric. I googled this information.

Ariens 921013 has difficulty changing speed under traction. The lever wants to pull forward when I disengage it from the holding slot on the dashboard and will not let me reduce speed without disengag


It might be time to lube the shaft the bearing slides on that changes speed. If you pull the rear cover off it should be easy to spot. Some people use oil others use a little grease. I like synthetic grease as it won't drip. If you use oil remember to wipe up any excess and you don't want it getting on the flat plate the friction disc rides on or you won't have any traction at all.

How do you put it in neutral


Does it have steering control triggers to turn it left or right...if so hold both at the same time with engine off and see if you can push it..Let me know if that works. Or let me know what kind of controls you have

What engine do you have? Tecumseh those are usual 18-21oz Not sure with briggs, but will be around a 1/2 qt (16oz) start there. Add a little at a time to bring level up. get back if you have and need more specifics.

Some times, the seals not sealed yet not being run. Check all your oil and gear oil levels and run it. Hope everything will be ok then.

what would you want that for? a blower is a blower, change the oil twice a season and brease every nipple you see. lol
