OK here's a list of things to check since I'm here and your there I have to start from the beginning:----Do you have gas-is it getting to the carburetor---is there a fuel switch connected to the ignition switch---is it working such as a magnetic needle valve at the bottom of carb shut off when the switch is off(battery equipped system)---others have a vacuum control regulator---- you can check to see if it will run by spraying a whiff of ether in the carb filter inlet --- if it runs for a second you have fuel issues---check for spark---you can do this by removing the sparkplug-check to see if the plug is fouled---if so clean-if not ---connect the plug lead back up and lay plug against the engine---- then turning it over to observe if there's spark--- if not check to see if it's equipped with a low oil sensor ---if so this may be bad or you are low on oil---another fault may be a bad I / O switch---usually these engines are equipped with an electronic self-generating ignition system and it shuts down by grounding the system at the start switch when it's turned off. At the other end of the spectrum do you have compression ---if not you may have valve problems or ring problems and /or other issues---best I can do from here good luck
