SOURCE: i280 won't scan!

ImageCalibration means the cameras don't get enough light during their self test.
Please check the following points:
Are both lamps on or one lamp in case you have a single page scanner?
Are the imaging guides (the clear sheets above the cameras) clean?
Are the little white tags on the imaging guides present?
One tag on each imaging guide.
Without this small white tags the cameras are not able to check themself.
For emergency you can apply a small white paper or white insulating tape instead of missing tags to test the scanner.

If the lamps are light, both tags are present please calibrate the scanner with the kodak calibration sheets. You will find the calibration menue in the scanner validation tool. You can get this tool from the Kodak home page.

Are you using a Kofax SCSI card or an normal SCSI controller like Adaptec?
By using a normal SCSI controller, is there an ASPI driver problem after a WIN XP update? After an update check the ASPI dlls in \sytem32. They should be version 4.71 or higher.

Check the SCSI connector pins and the terminator.
If available change the cable.

Scanner check:
Is the green lamp (Ready) on or is the red lamp (Error) on?

- green lamp on:
the internal self test is ok, but the internal SCSI interface may possibly faulty.

- red lamp on:
the internal selftest detect an error.
It's possible that the DC/DC power board, the CPU board or the power supply inside the scanner is defective.
After reassembling the front side camera you will see at the bottom a PCA board with some LEDs whitch indicate by red light the different voltages when power is on. You find the different voltages printed at the PCA close to the LEDs.
In case on or more LEDs don't shine the according DC/DC transformer on the PCA is defective.
Futher you see LEDs at the camera PCAs. They should be on too.

In case the CPU board has an defect you must have an special Kodak activation tool to unlock an new or used CPU board after exchange.

SOURCE: I have a Kodak i40 scanner and it does not feed

This may help. The scanner has a pad assembley which needs to be replaced once it has worn out. If you open the top of the scanner using the button on the left hand side then on the part that open upwards you will see a pad about an inch in lengh with two clips either side. This pad should be about 4 - 5 mm in thickness if it is less then that then paper just files through. You can get the replacment pad from companies on the internet.
Hope this helps

All of a sudden I am getting a double-image when scanning a document. The first part of the image has been moved to the left about 2 inches and the second image on it starts about 4 inches down and about 4 inches from the left. So weird. Any ideas of what could be wrong?

What will be the reason for canon sensys fax-L 150 coping dark page but faxing and printing is ok.

First things first. Try and print report from the fax. Any kind of report. If it is printing OK, then the next step is to check if:

Your clients receive your faxes OK? If they are dark as well, then your scanner head is at fault.

When you make Copy on your fax and it prints dark it could be simply set with dark settings _or_because of the white calibration strip or roller being soiled or dirty, which acts as the ultimate white reference point for scanner _or_ the Scanner CCD sensor is in paper jam release position (too far away from reading the originals) just pull it back to normal feed position.

Or simply faulty scanner.

How can I share Kodak i2400 on Lan?

It is not possible, unfortunately. I would love to read this article you referenced. There are many services, resources, and registry issues that come into play. As an alternative, Kodak produced the Scan Station 500/700 for this very reason. Cheers!

How to turn off or turn down volume on start-up/shut down of the Kodak Scan Station 500

Sorry if this double-posts. From the configuration organizer, go to settings-->device and scroll down to language. Make your changes, save the config file, and upload to the scanner

I also found the kodak youtube series to be really helpful with basic config questions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQyI-VHFwqU

DR-7580

About 99% of the time, there is something stuck on the lens. Our clients that use these are hard to convince of this, but often if you take a small flashlight, you can either find something stuck on one of the lenses or there's a scratch on one. If it's scratched, you're out of luck and will have to replace it. Otherwise, use a light alcohol based pad and clean with it wrapped around your fingernail. Kodak scanner cleaning supplies work great.

Kodak i40 Front loading scan

Hi,

Try downloading the latest Firmware for the Kodak i40 Scanner at the following Kodak.com page: http://graphics.kodak.com/docimaging/US/en/Products/Document_Scanners/Desktop/i40_Scanner/Support/Drivers_And_Downloads/i30_and_i40_Scanner_Firmware/index.htm

Follow the instructions carefully, and make sure that the scanner and the PC DO NOT turn off while doing the Firmware update. I recomend connecting both to a UPS with a known good battery while doing this upgrade.

This should install the latest features including the one that enables front feed.

Acrobat 8.1

Upgrade to Acobat 9.0 Pro. It seems to work in that can scan pages for a document, HOWEVER, adding/appending to already scaned pages for a document seems to crash 9.0. For example, say I scan in pages 1 - 4. I cannot then scan pages 5 -6 as part of the same document--crashes Acrobat.

I think this finally proves the problem is Acrobat 8.0 and NOT the i40 drivers.
