Question about Frost Refrigerators
My Bosh Intelligent Frost Free 44 fridge keeps freezing up the pipe down the back of the fridge which keeps the fridge cool. We keep defrosting it by blowing hot air down to melt the ice and that works for a couple of weeks then it ices up again. I rang 2 repairers and one said the heater fan and defrost switch need replacing and the other said the insulation must have totally worn away which means its not repairable. Any advice from people with similar situation??
You can not get advice over the phone or here really
You need knowledgeable folks to be there & see the issue
It may not be getting enough air across the condenser coil to
remove the heat
It may have a refrigerant leak & is boiling off too soon & freezing
the evaporator coil
Or the other suggestions on fan control, switches & such

probably the easiest fix for this is install a drain probe to transfer heat from the defrost heater into the drain hole to prevent ice build up. take a peice of 10 or 12 guage solid copper wire and wrap one end around the defrost heater pretty tight and put the other end down in the drain line 2-4 inches.

Since your refrig is cooling , I would replace the # 4 AND # 5 thermistors . The # 4 thermistor , tells the main control board , the temp of the coils , if they need defrosted , when they are thru defrosting . This thermistor is the 1 " long , torpedo looking piece , clipped on the top left of the coils , with 2 white wires going to it . Part number WR55X10025 . It would be advisable to also replace the # 5 thermistor , located at the bottom of the freezer , slightly in front of the drain , also with 2 white wires going to it , slid into a housing . This thermistor , is the freezer thermistor , which tells the control board , the freezer temp , when to cycle off , associated with the fan speed also .

We have the same and I think it is because the freezer door bounces open when we shut the fridge door. Then the freezer compartment ices up, the fan clogs up with ice and cannot blow cold air into the fridge, and the fridge gets warm and the milk goes off.
Solution? We have bought one of those child safety clips (search for fridge safety clip or lock) to hold the freezer door closed.
Simple design error. Expected better from Bosch :-(
