Why won't my safe open? I have 3 keys that fit, door won't open . I don't know combination.
Safe is 5 years old, but never been opened. I don't recall ever seeing combination. Six keys are with safe, 3 fit lock. There is a number pad, as well as 3 lights, none of which go on. There is also a small hole with DC next to it. I thought the key would override any combination. I assume the combo is inside? Not sure what to do.
Re: Why won't my safe open? I have 3 keys that fit, door...
There should be a serial number on the safe. You can google the manufacturer and get a contact number, call them and they will be able to walk you through resetting the combination. But it sounds like you will need to replace the battery in it first

ELECTRONIC SAFES To open an electronic safe the first time, press the following numbers/letters on the electronic keypad –159B. (These numbers are preset. You should change the code as soon as possible after opening the safe to insure proper security). ENTERING YOUR SECURITY CODE To enter your own security code you will need to follow the steps listed below: 1. After opening the electronic safe (with the pre -set factory code of 159B) locate the small red button on the inside of the door near the hinge. 2. Press the red button and then release it, you will hear a beep. DO NOT SHUT THE DOOR UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIRMED THAT YOUR NEW SECURITY CODE HAS BEEN ENTERED CORRECTLY. 3. With the door open, enter your own personal security code, which can be 3- 8 digits long, and confirm your new code by pressing the letter “B” on the electronic touch pad. Before you close the door, try the new security code to make sure the lock release the knob so you can turn it and retract the live action locking bolts.

Turn the dial to the RIGHT, passing your third combination number ONE (1) time and stopping at that number the second time around. 5. Turn the dial to the LEFT, to the last combination number and STOP. 6. Insert the key in the cylinder lock and turn RIGHT to open. Your safe should now be opened.
