That is the main bearing worn with so much play that a heavy load will stop it going around and normal wash will grind from time to time.
Bosch use very well made bearing so you might get more out of it before the bearing crashes completely.
hi, it sounds like the brushes on the motor 2 plastic blockes sit either side of the motor thses are made of carbon and wear down can cause the motor to stop working hope it helps
After grinding did you hear the brew group goes up and pump start? If you hear the pump start and stopped, itis blockage in the brewunit metal screen. Just needs cleaning.
If you don't hear the pump starting, the problem is with the faulty micro switch inside the gearbox , that is behind the plate of brewunit.(service center job)

If it was the motor you would still be able to hear it trying to start. The will make a loud hummmmm. Since it is doing nothing you most likely have a bad thermal fuse.
Other possible problems include the door switch, the start switch, the timer, the breaker in your home. If you need more help, just let me know and I will be happy to try to help you figure it out. Good luck.
