SOURCE: Ihave a sears 2 cycle blower, vac and is not

remove the spark plug, plug it back into the plug wire place a screwdriver on the spark plug and the cylinder and pull the starter rope - if there is spark, you will see it on the plug [or you will feel it!]. if you have spark, put the plug back in and try to wiggle it side to side, if it rocks freeley, the cylinder bolts have come loose [a very common problem with these units]. the fix is pretty involved and not fun

Spear Jackson blower & vac has no spark but tested sparkplug and it works fine! Any ideas?

If the plug is okay then the ignition coil is a common fault these days.
Unless it is loose, which is very rare, it would need to be replaced.
Just make sure the spark plug lead hasn't been damaged or pulled out of the coil first.
You may also disconnect the small wire to the stop switch and tape it up and try the spark.
To try the spark, rest or clip the connected spark plug on a metal part of the motor and pull the start cord while watching for spark at the tip. Careful though, a good system can jump a 1/2" air gap and can give you quite a shock.
You can buy spark testers quite cheaply and they are handy if you plan to do more of this sort of work.
It's rare that the switches are faulty, but if you have spark then it's a faulty switch.
If you replace the coil yourself check the gap between the coil and flywheel first and make it the same with the new one. They need to be very close, but not touching and need to allow for expansion of the parts due to heating up.

Spear & Jackson chainsaw CS38 cuts out after

There are a couple possibilities. Your Carb adjustment is off or your fuel system is clogged up. On the Carb. there is an L and R you want to richen up the R side adjusting it a quarter turn counter clock wise. If this doesn't solve the problem check your fuel lines and filter. If there is a small tear in the line all the dirt and dust will go into the Carb and stick to the screen inside the carb body. Hope its the first one. Good luck!

I can't start Spear and Jackson 38cc Chainsaw

Remove the spark plug and test for blue, snappy spark. If nothing, try a new plug set for 0.020" gap. If still nothing, remove the cover from the flywheel side to expose the ignition module. Remove the ignition switch wire from the module and try for spark again--if ok, check for a grounded ignition switch or the wire itself. If still nothing, replace the ignition module. Use a thin business card for a pole gap between the module and the flywheel magnets. Allow the module poles to contact the magnets, then tighten the screws. Rotate the flywheel to remove the card. If you got spark in the first test, then place some fuel mix in the plug hole and try to start. You should get several pops. If ok, then work on the fuel system. Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. Make sure the carburetor fasteners are tight. If the machine is fairly old, you should check the condition of the lower chamber diaphragm in the carburetor--it may have become hard or cracked. Hope some of this helps!

Crafsman gas blower: fuel lines to primer bulb had to be reconnected; now blower won't fire at all. Replaced plug and made sure it sparked; still nothing when I try to start.

Priming the engine(put some gas in the sparkplug hole ,after you have checked the sparkplug, the colour of the spark has to be violet).Start the engine. If it starts there is a carburation problem, change the fuel lines to primer bulb.

wish you good luck savumihai71
