Question about Exercise & Fitness
Have reset circuit breaker, unplugged treadmill, replugged in back in and still get the same - console will not work.
If you have tested the power point ~ for example: plugged in a vacuum cleaner and you have power ~ yet when you plug the treadmill in, you have no console display, there is a 99% chance you have a faulty lower control board...

If the colse buttons make a chirping noise when you push them the console should be Ok. If there is no chirping noise with the push it is a bad console. If everything but the speed works it will probably be your motor controller that is bad.

you have to have the little magnet on the front of the treadmill. If it is an old treadmill, you may just need to get a new one. Hope i helped!!! :D

That error code mean you motor is not getting the correct signal to operate the drive motor. You will need unplug unit then take the motor shroud off visually inspect all connectors then make sure all of them are seating solid in their connectors. then plug the unit in check an see if the L E Ds have lit on lower electronics board then get on unit and with your foot proceed to move the belt while doing that hit your start button and see if that error code come up. At this point we are checking the speed sensor to see if it is functional. Now if your upper console is registering its showing speed and time moving forward this also tells us that the communication between the two boards are fine. Now stop this process and you should have the error 1 show on the console. If you have a multi meter handy find the two leads coming form the motor going to the board unplug them put the two leads into the connector switch the meter to dcv 100v range and proceed to move the belt in the previous now the motor has become a generator and if function you should be getting a dcv output if not the it telling either worn motor brushes or open winding in the motor now if you get a reading then that lower board is defective. Then call York and get pricing on the defective part.

This is not sounding good. A reset normally would solve a problem with the logic on the circuit boards that control the unit, but that doesn't sound like it worked.
According to Schwinn, the troubleshooting procedure for a treadmill that won't turn on are as follows: Make sure the outlet is powered, it is plugged into the outlet, the device turned on by the switch and the safety key is in position. pretty elementary stuff - but I included it because that's what the manual says to do.
I can suggest the you try unplugging the power cord from the outlet for a minute or two, then plug back in & try to start the treadmill again. Sometimes that is the only way to be sure that there is no power reaching the circuit board(s) to perform a reset of the logic. If the circuit board(s) remain powered they can be "locked up" and will not allow normal operation of the device.
If unable to get the treadmill to run, you'll probably have to contact Schwinn Customer Support for assistance. You have a choice of ways to contact them as shown here.
I hope this got you going - or at least pointed you in a direction to get help. Please rate my reply. Thank you.

Power issues with ProForm treadmills fit into two categories: the power does not turn on or the power shuts off when using the treadmill. If the power will not turn on, make sure that the treadmill is plugged into a working power outlet. In addition, you should use a single-outlet surge protector for the treadmill. Single-outlet surge protectors protect the machine from any voltage changes that may occur in your home.
If the machine is plugged into a working outlet, make sure the safety key is in the keyhole on the console. If the safety key is not plugged into the machine or if it is pulled out during operation, the treadmill will not operate.
Finally, make sure the circuit breaker located on the frame near the power cord is set to "Reset." The circuit breaker is set to "Reset" if the top of the button is pushed in. When the breaker is tripped, push it back to the "Reset" position and wait five minutes before powering on the treadmill.
If the ProForm treadmill shuts off during operation, check the power cord and circuit breaker as described above. You can also try removing and reinserting the safety key.
