Click to Desktop from the tiles screen, Press and hold the Windows button (bottom left of keyboard next to ALT) + E. This will load Windows Explorer. Browse to the disk location that you want to create the folder in and click New Folder (right click, NEW Folder also works). Type the folder name. When you use the scanner you should be able to choose SAVE and then navigate to the folder you created.

Could microsoft stop interfering with my PC. I am fed up to put my email to get access to the window. I am an elderly lady and I have problem to cop with your interference.

Yes, you can stop the interference. Instead of signing in by typing your Microsoft email you can change to a "Local account". You can also start Windows without needing to type any password.
If you have Windows 10 go here. Scroll down and click on "To switch from a Microsoft account to a local account":

If you have Windows 8 or 8.1 go here and scroll down and click on "Create a local account":

Screen gone half black...tried with different CPU...same problem persist... Please advise what to do...

The effect is called fold-over, where the bottom of the screen is folded over the top half.

If you can get into the menu set up you can try and change scan settings and adjust them so that :-

1. The screen is moved down so that the bottom of the fold-over is at the bottom of the screen and the top of the windows screen is at the top (it is missing on the photo).

2. Adjust the vertical scan rate to resolve the fold-over problem.

Otherwise it needs fixing by a TV engineer that can fix monitors as the adjustments are inside.

How to Create Windows 8 Recovery Drive

Gateway NE56R28u

The Windows 8 Gateway laptop it shows the Gatewy logo but underneath the logo it says "Preparing automatic repair"
Then it goes to a blue screen that says "Your PC needs to be repaired A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed . Error code: 0xc0000185 you'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media" .
You need to create a Windows 8 boot USB on another Windows 8 machine.

Follow the steps below to create a Windows 8 Recovery Drive:
On someone elses windows 8 machine! Does not store personal details.
Difficulty: Easy
Items Required: A flash drive, empty or that you're okay with erasing, with at least 500 MB of capacity
Time Required: Creating a Recovery Drive in Windows 8 should take under 10 minutes.
Applies To: You can create a Recovery Drive this way in any edition of Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.
Here's How:
1.Open the Windows 8 Control Panel. Windows 8 includes a tool to create a Recovery Drive and it's most easily accessible from the Control Panel.
2.Tap or click on the System and Security link.
Note: You won't see System and Security if your Control Panel view is set to Large icons or Small icons. In your case, just tap or click on Recovery and then move on to Step 5.
3.In the System and Security window, tap or click on the Action Center link at the top.
4.In the Action Center window, tap or click on Recovery, located at the bottom of the window.
5.In the Recovery window, tap or click on the Create a recovery drive link.
Note: Tap or click Yes if you're prompted with a User Account Control question about the Recovery Media Creator program.
You should now see the Recovery Drive window.
6.Connect the flash drive that you plan on using as the Windows 8 Recovery Drive, assuming it's not already connected.
You should also disconnect any other external drives, if only to avoid confusion in later steps.
7.Check the Copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive checkbox if it's available.
Note: This option is usually available on computers that had Windows 8 preinstalled when purchased. If you installed Windows 8 yourself then this option probably isn't available which likely isn't an issue since you probably still have the original Windows 8 disc, ISO image, or flash drive that you used when you installed Windows 8.

8.Tap or click on the Next button.
9.Wait while Recovery Drive Creator searches for drives available to be used as a Recovery Drive.
10.On the Select the USB flash drive screen, choose the drive letter that corresponds to the flash drive you want to use as a Windows 8 Recovery Drive.
Note: If no flash drive is found, but you do have an optical drive, you'll see a Create a system repair disc with a CD or DVD instead link at the bottom of the window. Touch or click on that if you'd like to complete that process, which I explain for Windows 7 here. That tutorial applies perfectly to Windows 8 as well so long as you start it at Step 3.

11.Tap or click on the Next button.
12.Tap or click on the Create button to begin the Recovery Drive creation process.
Important: Please take note of the warning on this screen: Everything on the drive will be deleted. If you have any personal files on this drive, make sure you've backed up the files.

13.Wait while Windows 8 creates the Recovery Drive, which involves formatting the flash drive and then copying the necessary files to it.
Depending on your choice in Step 7 above, this process could take anywhere from a few to several minutes.
14.When the Recovery Drive creation process is complete, you'll see a The recovery drive is ready message.
Tap or click on the Finish button.
Important: You're not done yet! The most important two steps are yet to come.
15.Label the flash drive. Something like Windows 8 Recovery Drive should make pretty obvious what this drive is for.
You should be able to use this to boot your Windows 8 PC, using the system restore partition on your pc.

What are the steps I should use when re-installing Windows 7 on my HP Tower PC?

George, your problem may be a fragmented drive...
you need to run a defrag and scan disk.

it's done the same way in Windows 7 as it was in earlier versions of Windows:
  1. Open the "Computer" window
  2. Right-click on the drive in question
  3. Select the "Tools" tab
  4. in now
  5. Then ...In the Error-checking area, click <Check Now>
If this does not help, you need to run a Recovery from the disk you created when you setup the PC.
If you did not create the Recovery Disk...go to all programs, HP folder, Utilities. Create Recovery Disk.

I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

did your pc come with recovery disks ? if not then their built in to your least Hp pc's do. open computer. click drive C. open, click on Windows, click on folder SMINST. click on create cd. you can use alot of cd's to create your recovery disks or use a couple of dvds if using dvds i would use dvd+ disks. my pc don't care much for dvd- disks. when you copy them , you need to put them in a safe place. your pc will only allow you to make one copy. but i would use other software to make more copys. make sure you mark your disks in order there that you made your disks. you can put them up in case your hard drive crashs. now to put a fresh 8 on your pc go to search type the word recovery manager it will ask if you want to do a bunch of things click no on all except when you get to Factory Reset click yes.that sould get what you need. you have a recovery partion built in to your hard drive.

Sir pl tl me that whch antivirus is suitable for window 8

Windows 8 includes an automatically loaded updated version of Windows Defender
which is a full antivirus based on Microsoft Security Essentials.
(Windows Defender
for XP, Vista, and Windows 7 was only antispyware.)
So if you upgrade the protection
is automatic and is on by default at installation.
